El creador de contenido Yeferson Cossio deberá responder por una sanción de 116 millones de pesos impuesta por Coljuegos, luego de que la entidad determinara que estuvo relacionado con la operación de un juego promocional a través de Instagram sin contar con la autorización requerida.
La decisión fue dada a conocer este miércoles 19 de agosto y establece una multa equivalente a 100 salarios mínimos legales mensuales vigentes de 2023. Ese año, el salario mínimo era de $1.160.000, por lo que la sanción quedó fijada en $116.000.000.
Además del componente económico, la medida contempla una inhabilidad de cinco años para operar juegos de suerte y azar, periodo que empezará a contar una vez el acto administrativo quede ejecutoriado.
¿Qué pasó con el juego promocional?
El procedimiento comenzó a partir de una denuncia relacionada con actividades promocionales difundidas mediante redes sociales. Coljuegos revisó el caso y encontró que Cossio estaba vinculado con un juego promocional publicado en su cuenta de Instagram sin la autorización correspondiente.
La entidad explicó que el proceso administrativo incluyó las diferentes etapas previstas para este tipo de actuaciones, entre ellas la investigación, la formulación de cargos, los descargos y los alegatos de conclusión.
“Durante la actuación administrativa, Coljuegos verificó que el sancionado no contaba con autorización vigente para operar juegos de suerte y azar en la modalidad correspondiente, motivo por el cual la entidad adelantó las etapas de investigación, formulación de cargos, presentación de descargos y alegatos de conclusión”, se lee en el comunicado.
Con base en estas actuaciones, el organismo declaró responsable al creador de contenido por la operación ilegal de juegos de suerte y azar en la modalidad de promocionales.
En Colombia, este tipo de actividades se encuentra bajo regulación estatal y está relacionado con el monopolio de los juegos de suerte y azar, cuyos recursos tienen como finalidad contribuir a la financiación de la salud pública.
La decisión todavía puede ser apelada
Aunque Coljuegos ya emitió la sanción, esta todavía no está en firme. Cossio tiene la posibilidad de presentar los recursos de reposición y apelación dentro de los términos establecidos por la Ley 1437 de 2011.
Por esta razón, el cobro de la multa y la inhabilidad no comenzarán de manera inmediata. Si la decisión queda ejecutoriada, el expediente será remitido a la Gerencia de Cobro Coactivo para continuar con el proceso correspondiente.
La restricción para operar juegos de suerte y azar también comenzará desde ese momento y tendrá una duración de cinco años.
El antecedente de los perfiles en redes sociales
Esta no es la primera vez que Cossio aparece mencionado en actuaciones relacionadas con Coljuegos.
En 2024, la entidad adelantó acciones contra perfiles de redes sociales vinculados con la promoción y operación de actividades relacionadas con juegos de suerte y azar sin autorización. En ese momento, Coljuegos solicitó el bloqueo de cuentas en plataformas digitales, entre ellas una asociada al creador de contenido.
El organismo ha mantenido este tipo de controles sobre las actividades que se realizan en internet, especialmente cuando se utilizan redes sociales para promocionar rifas, juegos promocionales o plataformas de apuestas que no cuentan con los permisos correspondientes.
También hubo una sanción relacionada con Grupo Cossio
A este antecedente se suma una decisión de la Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio (SIC) contra Grupo Cossio S.A.S.
En 2025, la entidad confirmó una sanción de 813 millones de pesos contra la empresa por publicidad engañosa relacionada con la comercialización del curso en línea denominado ‘Método Cossio’.
La actuación de la SIC corresponde a un caso diferente al proceso adelantado por Coljuegos, aunque ambos involucran actividades comerciales relacionadas con el entorno empresarial del creador de contenido.
Investigación por video con un arma de la Policía
La nueva sanción también se conoce en medio de otra controversia que involucra a Cossio. El creador de contenido fue cuestionado después de que circulara en redes sociales un video grabado durante su visita a Quibdó, Chocó, donde aparece manipulando un arma de dotación de la Policía Nacional.
El episodio ocurrió durante el viaje que realizó al departamento para apoyar a personas afectadas por el terremoto que se registró en esa zona.
En las imágenes difundidas en plataformas digitales se observa a Cossio con el arma en sus manos y posteriormente entregándosela a una uniformada. Otro integrante de la institución aparece posteriormente en el lugar para tomarse una fotografía con el influencer.
La situación generó cuestionamientos en redes sociales y llevó a la Policía Nacional a informar que estaba verificando lo ocurrido.
«En relación con un video difundido en redes sociales y plataformas digitales, el día 17/08//2026 en el cual se observa a un reconocido influencer y creador de contenido manipulando un arma de dotación de la Policía Nacional, la Institución tuvo conocimiento de los hechos e inició las verificaciones correspondientes», señaló la Oficina de Comunicaciones Estratégicas del Departamento de Policía de Chocó.
Hasta ahora, la información oficial entregada por la institución corresponde al inicio de las verificaciones sobre el episodio.
Coljuegos mantiene vigilancia sobre actividades digitales
El caso de Yeferson Cossio hace parte de las acciones que Coljuegos adelanta para controlar la promoción de juegos de suerte y azar a través de plataformas digitales.
La entidad ha informado sobre solicitudes de bloqueo de perfiles utilizados para promocionar u operar este tipo de actividades sin autorización. Con la decisión conocida este miércoles, el creador de contenido queda sujeto a una sanción económica y a la restricción establecida por la entidad, aunque el resultado definitivo dependerá de los recursos que puedan presentarse y del momento en que el acto administrativo quede en firme.
Una información inesperada sobre la vida personal de Rauw Alejandro comenzó a circular luego de que el periodista Álex Rodríguez revelara en el programa ¡Siéntese quien pueda! que el cantante puertorriqueño se habría convertido en padre por primera vez.
De acuerdo con lo contado por el periodista, el artista habría tenido un bebé junto a una joven estudiante puertorriqueña con quien mantiene una relación sentimental desde hace aproximadamente dos años. La pareja, según esta versión, reside en Nueva York y habría conseguido mantener su vida personal alejada de la exposición pública.

La emergencia que dejó el terremoto del pasado 10 de agosto continúa generando muestras de solidaridad en Pereira. Esta vez, un grupo de adultos mayores que resultó afectado por el sismo encontró un lugar donde permanecer gracias a una iniciativa de la familia del cantante de música popular Jhonny Rivera.
Los adultos mayores fueron trasladados hasta una de las fincas del artista en Pereira, donde actualmente reciben alojamiento. La ayuda se conoció a través de las redes sociales de Rivera, quien compartió imágenes de las personas que llegaron al lugar y de la atención que están recibiendo.
El cantante se encuentra actualmente en Estados Unidos junto a su esposa, Jenny López, por lo que su mamá, María Mabel Valencia, quedó al frente de esta labor y es quien acompaña a los adultos mayores durante su permanencia en la propiedad.
La familia Rivera se sumó a la atención de los damnificados
La llegada de estas personas se da en medio de las diferentes acciones de ayuda que se han puesto en marcha en Pereira tras el terremoto. El artista ya había mostrado en sus redes sociales su interés en apoyar a quienes resultaron afectados por la emergencia.
De hecho, Rivera y Jenny López han participado en iniciativas de recolección de donaciones para las personas damnificadas. También han dispuesto espacios relacionados con sus negocios para apoyar las labores de ayuda.
En esta ocasión, la colaboración tomó otra forma: poner a disposición la finca para que un grupo de adultos mayores pueda contar con un lugar donde permanecer.

Según las imágenes difundidas en redes sociales, el grupo llegó a la finca de Rivera en un bus. Desde allí, la familia del artista comenzó a brindarles alojamiento y acompañamiento.

La situación se presenta después de los daños ocasionados por el terremoto del 10 de agosto, que tuvo una magnitud de 7,4, según la actualización del Servicio Geológico Colombiano, y cuyo epicentro estuvo en San José del Palmar, Chocó. El movimiento fue sentido con fuerza en diferentes departamentos, entre ellos Risaralda.
Pereira fue una de las ciudades afectadas por la emergencia. En los días posteriores al sismo, Rivera también mostró las consecuencias que el movimiento dejó en su propia propiedad, donde varios objetos terminaron en el suelo y se registraron daños materiales. Una de sus tías recibió un golpe por la caída de un mueble, aunque no sufrió heridas de gravedad.
Ahora, ese mismo espacio que también sufrió las consecuencias del terremoto está siendo utilizado temporalmente para recibir a personas afectadas.
Una ayuda que se suma a otras iniciativas
La decisión de alojar a los adultos mayores hace parte de las acciones solidarias que el cantante y su familia han desarrollado desde los primeros días de la emergencia.
Además de esta iniciativa, Rivera y su esposa habilitaron el Hotel La Rivera, ubicado en Pereira, para recibir donaciones y apoyar a personas afectadas y organismos que participan en la atención de la emergencia.
De esta manera, la finca del cantante se convirtió en otro punto de apoyo para quienes enfrentan las consecuencias del terremoto, esta vez con alojamiento para un grupo de adultos mayores que llegó al lugar acompañado por la familia de Rivera.
A California appeals court is leaning towards affirming the dismissal of Jay-Z’s extortion and defamation lawsuit against personal injury attorney Tony Buzbee.
A panel of state appellate judges heard arguments on Thursday (Aug. 20) in Jay-Z’s Los Angeles case against Buzbee, who filed a short-lived 2024 lawsuit accusing the rap icon (Shawn Carter) of raping a 13-year-old girl alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs decades earlier. Jay-Z vehemently denied this and then went on the offensive, suing Buzbee in two different forums for allegedly fabricating the claims in pursuit of money and publicity.
The rapper’s California case relied heavily on a recorded interview between private investigators and the anonymous rape accuser, known as Jane Doe, in which the woman supposedly admitted the claims were false and that Buzbee pressured her to lie. Judge Mark H. Epstein ruled last July that this interview is inadmissible under the legal hearsay rule — and as a result, he threw out the case due to insufficient evidence at the outset. Jay-Z appealed.
As oral arguments began Thursday, three appellate judges announced that their tentative thinking was to affirm Judge Epstein’s dismissal. Judge Stephen Goorvitch voiced concerns about the origin of this recording, since it’s not clear who hired the private investigators who spoke to Doe. Jay-Z’s attorneys say it wasn’t them.
“My concern is a plaintiff’s lawyer shows up in court and says, ‘Magically this interview has been dropped in my lap, I had nothing to do with it,’” said Judge Goorvitch. “We have no information about where this came from. It looks highly suspicious that somehow, somebody talked to Mr. Buzbee’s client directly.”
Judge Anne Richardson agreed that the recording is “not a reliable statement,” since Doe seemed to merely be giving yes-or-no answers to leading questions from investigators. A lawyer representing Buzbee, Samuel Moniz, went a step further by arguing that investigators threatened to publicly reveal Doe’s identity unless she cooperated.

“To say these circumstances are inherently intimidating is an understatement,” said Moniz during the hearing. “If you listen to the recording, her voice is trembling. She’s frightened. She’s totally caught off guard.”
Jay-Z’s lawyer, Jeremy Rosen, tried to sway the appeal judges into changing their minds and reviving the case for further litigation. He said that full evidence discovery — including the exchange of documents and witness testimony — should be conducted before it’s decided whether or not Buzbee pressured Doe to fabricate rape claims.
“At trial, [Jane Doe] will either testify consistently with this investigation or she won’t, and the jury will then get to decide if she’s credible and what the ultimate facts are,” said Rosen. “Due process demands at least the opportunity to have limited discovery.”
The appellate court took the matter under consideration for a written ruling.
While Jay-Z waits for a decision on the future of the California case, he’s still pursuing a separate malicious prosecution suit against both Buzbee and Doe in federal court. That matter was recently transferred from Alabama to New York, and Buzbee is scheduled to file a key motion to dismiss next month.

Ariana Grande has once again blasted the Trump administration for using her music in social media clips promoting the president.
Team Trump posted a video to TikTok on Thursday (Aug. 20) soundtracked by Grande’s 2024 Eternal Sunshine hit “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love).”
The clip finds Trump walking toward the podium at a speaking engagement and is captioned with lyrics from Grande’s Billboard Hot 100-topping smash, “Me and my truth we sit in silence,” followed by a statement about women’s sports. “Men can’t have babies and should never compete in women’s sports,” the post continues.
Team Trump added in the caption: “This shouldn’t be controversial! #trump #arianagrande #maga.”
Grande quickly got wind of Team Trump’s post and slammed the administration for using her work in the comment section. “Never use my music again. Also, your truth is false,” she responded.
Arianators also flocked to the comment section to alert the singer. “Does Ariana know he’s using her song AGAIN,” one fan wrote.
This isn’t the first time Grande has spoken out against the Trump administration for using the pop star’s music to promote its content. She previously condemned Trump’s deployment of ICE after the agency posted a clip soundtracked by 2024’s “Bye” in June.
“Please do not ever use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense. F— ICE,” she commented.
