Una emergencia registrada en el estado de Maharashtra, India, terminó con la muerte de tres integrantes de una misma familia, después de que un joven permaneciera durante varias horas en la parte alta de una colina y posteriormente se produjera una caída en la que también fallecieron sus padres.
El hecho ocurrió el viernes 21 de agosto en el sector de Tisgaon, en el distrito de Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, bajo la jurisdicción de Waluj MIDC. Las víctimas fueron identificadas por las autoridades como Kunal Chandgude, de 19 años, su padre Murlidhar Chandgude, de 48, y su madre, Sangita Chandgude.
De acuerdo con información entregada por la Policía y recogida por medios como NDTV y ThePrint, el episodio comenzó durante la mañana, cuando Kunal llegó hasta la zona elevada, alrededor de las 10:00 a. m., después de una discusión con sus padres relacionada con un teléfono celular.
Tres horas de intentos para convencer al joven
La situación generó una operación para intentar poner al joven a salvo. Familiares, habitantes de la zona y uniformados acudieron al lugar para tratar de persuadirlo de abandonar la parte cercana al precipicio.
También fue solicitado el apoyo de los bomberos, quienes intentaron instalar una red en la parte inferior de la zona para reducir el riesgo en caso de una caída. Sin embargo, según las autoridades citadas por ThePrint, el joven cambiaba constantemente de posición, lo que dificultaba las labores de rescate.
El exsarpañch de Tisgaon, Sanjay Jadhav, estuvo entre las personas que intentaron hablar con Kunal. Según su testimonio, permaneció en el lugar durante aproximadamente tres horas mientras trataba de convencerlo de alejarse del borde.

El intento del padre terminó en otra caída
Con el paso de las horas, Murlidhar Chandgude llegó hasta el sitio para intentar convencer personalmente a su hijo de regresar. Según la reconstrucción preliminar entregada por las autoridades, el padre se acercó a Kunal y trató de sujetarlo.
En ese momento se produjo la caída de ambos desde la colina. El padre perdió el equilibrio al intentar intervenir y terminó cayendo junto con su hijo. Los dos murieron como consecuencia del accidente, según la información suministrada por la Policía.

La madre, que se encontraba en las inmediaciones y presenció lo ocurrido, también cayó posteriormente desde el lugar. Con ello, los tres integrantes de la familia murieron en el mismo episodio.
¿Qué relación tuvo el iPhone con la tragedia?
Uno de los elementos que ha rodeado la investigación es la discusión familiar que antecedió al episodio. Según funcionarios policiales citados por NDTV, Kunal había adquirido un iPhone y estaba solicitando dinero a su familia para cubrir las cuotas pendientes del equipo. El pago de una de esas cuotas habría generado una discusión con su padre.
Sin embargo, la información disponible debe entenderse dentro de la reconstrucción preliminar de las autoridades. El conflicto por el teléfono aparece como el contexto que antecedió a la llegada del joven a la colina, pero la Policía continúa estableciendo la secuencia completa de lo ocurrido.

En su reciente mensaje, dejó claro que su ausencia de estos espacios no se debe a que haya dejado de lado esa labor. Por el contrario, señaló que, una vez se recupere, tiene la intención de regresar a los lugares donde puedan necesitar su ayuda.

Dale Morris, the legendary Nashville artist manager who helped build the superstar careers of Alabama and Kenny Chesney, has died. He was 89.
Morris died peacefully in his sleep Friday night (Aug. 21), his representatives said. A specific cause of death was not provided.

“He lived a big, bold, beautiful, blessed life, and I’m holding onto that right now,” Clint Higham, president of Morris Higham Management, said in a statement about his mentor and longtime business partner. “It’s the end of an era.”
Morris began his career in the music industry as a songwriter, penning Johnny Paycheck’s 1967 single “Don’t Monkey With Another Monkey’s Monkey” before turning his attention to the business side.
After launching Dale Morris & Associates, Morris was introduced to the up-and-coming band Alabama in 1979 at The Bowery in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Under his management, Alabama went on to score 33 No. 1 hits on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart — the most among duos or groups — and became an unstoppable touring force, bringing production values on par with those of the era’s biggest rock acts.
In the early 1990s, Morris forged a professional relationship with aspiring country singer Chesney, who would go on to become a Country Music Hall of Famer and one of the highest-grossing country touring artists of all time, according to Billboard Boxscore. Chesney also holds the record for the most No. 1 songs on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart, with 33.
Morris’ other clients included Martina McBride, Barbara Mandrell, Jake Owen, Old Dominion, Brandon Lay, Ryan Griffin and Walker County.
“He was larger than life, and never met a dream he couldn’t build,” Higham said. “Dale Morris gave me my first internship, and I never wanted to go anywhere else. He saw things in people, in me, in Kenny, and inspired everyone to reach beyond what we thought possible. Maybe it’s how much he loved life, loved his family, loved us.”
In 2018, Paradigm (now called THE·TEAM) acquired Dale Morris & Associates, the in-house booking business of Morris and Higham’s firm, Morris Higham Management.
During his career, Morris also received the T.J. Martell Foundation’s Tony Martell Lifetime Entertainment Achievement Award in 2014.
Morris was married to his wife, Earline, for 68 years. He was preceded in death by his son, Tim. He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Jennifer; grandchildren Zack, Colton (and wife Mary Blair), Nick (and wife Shelby) and Kendall; and great-grandchildren Mary Dee and Gus.
“We’re so blessed to have had 90 years with him as the patriarch of our family,” his grandson Zack Morris said in a statement. “Thank you to our music industry family and to his vast community of friends in Nashville, Boca and beyond for loving him all these many years.”
A celebration of life is being planned for later this fall, with details to be announced in the coming weeks. In lieu of flowers, Morris’ family is asking for donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Before she entered the stage like a ’00s R&B fantasy to the tune of “Anotha Luva,” Kehlani ceded the stage to her dazzling support acts: Grammy winner Durand Bernarr, DJ Waseel, ascendant R&B singer-songwriter TheARTI$T and Oscar-nominated songwriter DIXSON. Waseel served as master of ceremonies for the entire night, soundtracking interludes with Kehlani deep cuts like “You Know Wassup,” feeding the day-one fans and keeping the energy high. Olivia Rodrigo is dropping new music ahead of her upcoming Daisy Chain Fields festival.
On Friday (Aug. 21), the 23-year-old singer-songwriter surprise-released her new song “Serena Joy” as a limited-edition CD available exclusively at Analog Music Shop in Tustin, California.

The store is located about eight miles from Irvine’s Great Park, where Daisy Chain Fields will take place on Aug. 29.
Analog Music Shop announced on Instagram Friday that Rodrigo had supplied the retailer with 500 copies of the Handmaid’s Tale-inspired track. The store later shared another post announcing that all copies had sold out.
“When we heard that Olivia Rodrigo was bringing an all-women music festival to Orange County, we were honestly just excited to see something this special happening right here in our hometown,” Analog Music Shop wrote. “As one of the closest record stores in the area, we wanted to find a way to support Daisy Chain Fields.”
The store said it was especially grateful to have been chosen to exclusively sell physical copies of “Serena Joy” three days before the song’s wider release, noting Rodrigo’s history of supporting independent record stores.
“More than anything, we’re grateful for what this represents: An artist building a stage for women in music and raising funds for women and girls,” the shop wrote. “An artist willing to support a local independent record store. And a hometown getting to be part of something really special. That means a lot to us.”
“Serena Joy” was recorded for Rodrigo’s third album, You Look Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in June, but ultimately didn’t make the final tracklist.
“I actually really love [‘Serena Joy’]. It didn’t fit on the album,” Rodrigo told Etalk. “The record was very much a chronicle of a relationship — beginning, middle and end. But I hope that it’ll be a part of something else down the line.”
Rodrigo hadn’t commented on the CD single release of “Serena Joy” at press time, but Analog Music Shop seemingly teased that the song will receive a wider release on Monday (Aug. 24).
Rodrigo will headline the all-women Daisy Chain Fields festival on Aug. 29. Other performers include Chappell Roan, Garbage, Doechii, The Breeders, Mitski, Bikini Kill, KATSEYE and others, along with “special guests” Karen O, Sarah McLachlan and Stevie Nicks.
BigXthaPlug has had another run-in with the law.

The Dallas native, whose real name is Xavier Landum, was arrested by the Allen Police Department and booked into Collin County Jail on charges of driving while intoxicated, possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana and unlawful possession of a firearm, according to Dallas’ KDFW.
On Aug. 21, 2025, BigXthaPlug was arrested in North Texas on marijuana and weapon possession charges. He was out on bail for those charges when he was arrested Friday.
The rapper was scheduled to perform at the Country Rising Festival in Winnipeg, Manitoba, but was forced to cancel his appearance.
Organizers wrote in a statement on X that they understood the “disappointment and frustrated felt by those in attendance.” In another statement on Instagram, the festival wrote that BigXthaPlug wouldn’t be appearing “due to a personal emergency.”
The rapper is still slated to perform at the Iowa State Fair Grandstand on Saturday (Aug. 22). “We are aware of reports regarding BigXthaPlug. We are in communication with his agent and at this time, we have been told he will still be performing,” organizers there told KCCI in Des Moines.
In February 2025, BigXthaPlug was arrested on a marijuana possession charge in Arlington, Texas.
Last September, BigXthaPlug earned his first No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Rap Songs chart with “All the Way,” featuring Bailey Zimmerman. Its parent album, I Hope You’re Happy, debuted in the top two on both the Top Rap Albums and Top Country Albums charts.
Early Motown songwriter Janie Bradford Hobbs, who helped pen hits including “Money (That’s What I Want)” and “Too Busy Thinking About My Baby,” has died following an extended illness at a Los Angeles hospital, her family said Saturday (Aug. 22). She was 87.

Bradford Hobbs was born in Charleston, Missouri, and later moved to Detroit.
She was introduced in the late 1950s to Motown founder Berry Gordy by neighbor and singer Jackie Wilson. She joined Motown as a receptionist in 1958 and like many of the company’s employees took part in the creative process that helped make Motown a music industry powerhouse.
She and Gordy co-wrote “Money (That’s What I Want).” The song was recorded in 1959 by Barrett Strong and became an early hit. It was covered by The Beatles and also became one of that group’s hits.
“Too Busy Thinking About My Baby” first was recorded by The Temptations and later became a hit for Marvin Gaye. Bradford Hobbs also wrote songs for Stevie Wonder, The Supremes, Martha & The Vandellas and others.
“Janie was there with me from the very beginning, before there was even a Motown, and she will always hold a very special place in my heart and in the Motown family,” Gordy said in a statement.
“Janie was one of a special group I have always thought of as the original Motown family — the unsung heroes who believed in the dream before anyone knew what Motown would become,” Gordy continued. “She was one of the people who helped make Motown what it became.”
Bradford Hobbs later became head of Writer Relations for Jobete, Motown’s publishing company. After leaving Motown, she founded the annual Heroes and Legends Awards. The event spanned about 30 years, honoring music icons and awarding scholarships, according to her family.
She is survived by her husband, Wardean Hobbs; daughter, Nicole Hobbs; son, Lance Finney; and two grandsons. Funeral services have not been completed.

How To Watch ‘The Vampire Lestat: One Night Only LIVE’ Online
The full concert special will be available to stream on AMC+ beginning Sunday (Aug. 23). The special is an AMC+ exclusive, but viewers don’t necessarily have to subscribe through the standalone AMC+ app.
Fans can also access AMC+ through participating services including DirecTV, Philo, Sling, Prime Video and Apple TV. Those who already have one of these services can check their account for an AMC+ add-on. Depending on the platform and current promotions, eligible new subscribers may also be able to sign up for a free trial and watch the concert without committing to a full month.
DirecTV offers new subscribers a five-day free trial, while its Entertainment plan includes more than 90 live channels for $59.99 for the first month, followed by $89.99 per month. AMC+ is required to stream The Vampire Lestat: One Night Only LIVE, but some DirecTV packages include AMC+ with ads at no additional charge. If you have a qualifying plan, such as MyEntertainment Pack, simply open On Demand, select Networks and choose AMC+ to watch.
Sling offers a lower-cost way to access The Vampire Lestat: One Night Only LIVE through its AMC+ add-on. You can subscribe to AMC+ directly through Sling for $5 for the first month, with the regular price set at $9.99 per month, without purchasing a Sling Orange or Blue plan. For live TV, Sling Orange and Sling Blue both start at $45.99 per month, while the combined Orange + Blue plan starts at $69.99. Once AMC+ is active, use the Sling app’s search bar or Premium networks section to find the concert.
Philo is an easy way to stream the Lestat concert, especially for new subscribers. Its Core plan includes more than 70 channels, unlimited DVR and AMC+ at no additional cost. Plans start at $25 per month, and new users can also sign up for a seven-day free trial to watch without paying upfront. On Aug. 23, search for the concert in the Philo app or navigate to the AMC+ network page to start streaming.
For Apple TV users, AMC+ can be added directly through the Apple TV app, so there’s no need to download a separate streaming app. Eligible new subscribers can take advantage of a seven-day free trial. Open Apple TV, search for AMC+, select the AMC+ Channel and click Try It Free to sign up. Once your subscription is active, you can stream the Lestat concert on Aug. 23.
You don’t need a separate AMC+ app if you prefer watching through Amazon. Add AMC+ as a Prime Video Channel and eligible new subscribers can get a seven-day free trial. To get started, open Prime Video, search for AMC+ or The Vampire Lestat: One Night Only LIVE and choose Watch with AMC+ (start your free trial). From there, you can stream the concert and other AMC+ movies and shows directly through your Prime Video account.
The six-song setlist includes music written specifically for The Vampire Lestat by Hart, including “The Loneliness” and “Brutal Love.” Hart has said “The Loneliness” is his favorite song he wrote for season three because of its varied rhythms.
The concert arrives after season three’s run and ahead of the series’ next chapter, Anne Rice’s Queen of the Damned, which was announced as season four during San Diego Comic-Con in July.

Karol G, Maluma, Grupo Niche, Sebastián Yatra & More Will Join Colombia: Voces por la Vida in Bogotá
The Latin music industry is coming together to support communities affected by recent earthquake events. On Sunday (Aug. 23), “Colombia: Voces por la Vida” will bring together artists, promoters, companies and media partners at Bogotá’s Vive Claro Distrito Cultural to raise funds for the country’s rebuilding efforts.
Led by Ocesa Colombia’s Luz Angela Castro, the lineup includes Maluma, Kris R, Miguel Bosé, Greeicy, Silvestre Dangond, Eladio Carrión, Draco Rosa, Sebastián Yatra, TIMØ, Pedro Capó, Manuel Turizo, Juan Duque and more, with Karol G joining via livestream through her Con Cora Foundation. More artists are expected to participate. The initiative quickly grew into a collective effort involving Ocesa Colombia, MOVE Concerts, Páramo Presenta, CMN, Villalón Group, Diomar García Eventos and many others.
Maná Becomes First Latin Act Featured in Apple Music’s Rediscovered Series
More than three decades after its release on their groundbreaking ¿Dónde Jugarán los Niños?, Maná has become the first Latin act featured in Apple Music’s Rediscovered series. Fronted by Fher Olvera, the band — comprised of drummer Alex González, guitarist Sergio Vallín and bassist Juan Calleros, with additional backup members — performed a new version of “Oye Mi Amor” at Apple Music Studios in L.A.
The session, recorded in Spatial Audio and released exclusively on Apple Music, celebrates one of Maná’s most recognizable hits while adding another milestone to the Mexican band’s legacy. With more than 50 million albums sold worldwide, four Grammy Awards, nine Latin Grammys, and 10 No. 1s on Billboard‘s Hot Latin Songs chart, the band continues its Vivir Sin Aire Tour across the U.S. and Latin America. Maná’s performance joins recent Rediscovered sessions from Goo Goo Dolls, Norah Jones, Estelle, Ne-Yo, Billy Idol and Third Eye Blind. Watch their performance below.
Elvis Crespo Will Headline a Free Labor Day Celebration in the Bronx
Elvis Crespo is returning to the Bronx for a hometown celebration. The Puerto Rican Grammy-winning merengue star will headline the finale of the 2026 Bronx Summer Concert Series on Sept. 6 at Orchard Beach Pavilion. The free, family-friendly event will run from 1-5 p.m. ET and close out the borough’s annual summer concert series.
“Performing in New York City, where I was born, makes this moment meaningful,” Crespo said in a statement. “I can’t wait to bring the energy of merengue back to the city that will always be part of who I am.”
Bronx Borough president Vanessa L. Gibson added, “From salsa and merengue to freestyle and Caribbean sounds, this concert series reflects the vibrant energy and diversity that define our borough. ZZK Records Brings ‘Onda Latina’ Back to Venice Beach
ZZK Records — the indie Latin American electronic music label and cultural platform — is bringing its Onda Latina dance night back to Los Angeles on Sept. 10 at Townhouse Venice. The lineup will feature an evening of deep Latin sounds from Argentine producer Chancha Vía Circuito, Mexico-born, Amsterdam-based DJ and broadcaster Coco María, and ZZK’s own El G, who will close out the night with a DJ set.
The event continues ZZK’s mission of spotlighting adventurous Latin electronic music, digital cumbia and folkloric sounds for L.A. audiences. Since relocating to the city in 2019, the label has hosted more than two dozen events featuring artists from 11 countries, helping connect the region’s underground scenes with new audiences. D Smoke and Drezz Celebrate Women With Sultry “Mujeres”
D Smoke and Drezz, who perform together as the Los Angeles-based Afro-Latin duo STA-BN (short for ‘Sta Bien), released “Mujeres” on Friday (Aug. 21). The bilingual, mid-tempo track blends a sultry groove with lyrics celebrating women, individuality and connection across cultures.
“Mujeres is not only an ode to womankind, but a celebration of the individual woman, uniquely powerful and special,” D Smoke tells Billboard. “It champions she who, amidst a crowd, maintains her center and her protects own original energy.”
The song marks another cross-cultural release from the Grammy-winning artist, who continues to bridge English- and Spanish-language sounds through his music. Listen below.
