KATSEYE made it to Olivia Rodrigo‘s Daisy Chain Fields festival after all, though their appearance was short.

Three of the group’s current active members — Yoonchae, Lara and Megan, who sustained an ankle injury during rehearsal that led to KATSEYE pulling out of performing this weekend — unexpectedly showed up on stage Saturday (Aug. 29) just before Devon Again, the act booked to fill in for what would’ve been KATSEYE’s time slot. The trio said they were honored to introduce nonprofit Baby2Baby, an organization that provides children in poverty with diapers, clothing and other necessities, ahead of Devon Again’s performance.

Addressing their last-minute exit from the lineup, Megan expressed, “We’re so disappointed that we can’t perform today on stage, but my ankle is on hiatus.”

“But our hearts are definitely not,” she added. “We’re sending all of our love to Olivia and this beautiful community that she built at Daisy Chain Fields. We’re so happy to be here and show as much support as we can. We love you, Olivia. Thank you for letting us be a small part of this.” (Check out a video clip that was captured of the moment here.)

KATSEYE announced on Thursday that Megan had sprained her ankle, and that they’d no longer be performing at Rodrigo’s inaugural charity festival.

“My doctors have advised me to stay off it and let it heal so I can be ready for tour,” Megan said on Friday.

KATSEYE’s scheduled appearance at the Irvine, Calif., music festival curated by Rodrigo came just after the group earned its first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with the EP WILD.

KATSEYE’s active lineup presently consists of Yoonchae, Lara, Megan and Daniela, who wasn’t seen on stage Saturday. Fellow members Manon and Sophia are on hiatus, with Manon focusing on her wellness and Sophia focusing on her mental health.

On Friday, Rodrigo announced that ticket sales for Saturday’s day-long music event had brought in $10 million that will go directly to 10 nonprofit organizations supporting women: Planned Parenthood, Center for Reproductive Rights, Baby2Baby, Black Mamas Matter Alliance, FreeFrom, Jhpiego, Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health, National Domestic Workers Alliance, National Institute for Reproductive Health and National Women’s Law Center.

Lil Nas X is mourning the death of his mother, Tameka Hill.

On Saturday (Aug. 29), the 27-year-old rapper and singer took to social media to pay tribute to his late mom.

“RIP TO THE BADDEST EVER! LOVE U FOREVER MOMMY,” Nas wrote on Instagram alongside throwback photos. “This one’s gonna hurt.”

Hill’s age and cause of death were unknown at press time. Billboard has reached out to Nas’ representatives for further information.

The “Old Town Road” hitmaker had a complicated relationship with his mother but revealed in 2020 that she struggled with addiction.

“I never really talk about my mom,” the Grammy winner told Variety at the time. “She’s an addict, so we don’t have the closest relationship. Even trying to get her better — things didn’t quite work out. But there’s still love.”

The news of Hill’s passing comes days after Lil Nas X — who recently revealed that he had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and had entered rehab for mental health support — celebrated his “10,000th day alive.”

“So, tomorrow is my 10,000th day alive and I made it,” he said in a video shared to his Instagram Stories. “A lot of you won’t make it, but I made it.”

In mid-June, he revealed on Instagram that he had been in rehab “for a few months.” He later spent time with family in Atlanta and friends in Los Angeles to “ground myself down to Earth and get out of my head.” He added, “I have a therapist now and a psychiatrist, which is really helpful.”

Nas, whose real name is Montero Hill, has also faced legal trouble. In August 2025, he was charged with four felonies after allegedly attacking police officers while walking naked through the streets of Los Angeles. The charges will be dismissed if he continues with mental health treatment, Variety reports.

Kacey Musgraves dedicated her emotional Golden Hour ballad “Rainbow,” as well as a cover of “Here You Come Again,” to Dolly Parton in Boston on Friday (Aug. 28).

Musgraves, who’s on tour in support of her Middle of Nowhere album, took a moment on the TD Garden stage Friday to point out it’s not just Parton’s Grammys, or countless other career accolades, that people are talking about in the wake of the country trailblazer’s death.

“It’s what a humanitarian [she was],” Musgraves said. “Someone always looking out for someone else, looking out for the underdog, even when it probably wasn’t easy, even when it didn’t benefit her career. We can all learn a lot from someone like that.”

“She’s woven into the fabric of who we’ve always been, so it just feels extra sad. Let’s all sing this together for her memory, OK?” she suggested, leading the arena crowd in a sweet sing-along of “Rainbow,” the closing track from Musgraves’ Grammy Award-winning 2018 album, Golden Hour.

Photos of Parton, who passed away on Aug. 25 after a brief battle with cancer, were displayed on the big screen behind Musgraves as the room paid tribute to her, singing, “There’s always been a rainbow hangin’ over your head.”

The next song on Musgraves’ set list at Friday’s show was a performance of “Here You Come Again,” off of Parton’s 1977 studio album of the same name.

“Here You Come Again” was Parton’s earliest pop crossover hit, peaking at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1978. In fact, just two other recordings from Dolly have topped its success on the all-genre ranking: “9 to 5” and her Kenny Rogers duet “Islands in the Stream,” which both became Hot 100 No. 1s in the early 1980s. Though Parton was a prolific songwriter, “Here You Come Again” was penned by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil.

Musgraves’ song choice is a callback to when she performed “Here You Come Again” alongside Parton in 2019, during a special segment featuring a medley of Parton’s hits at the Grammys. That year, she also sang the tune in Parton’s honor — as a duet with pop star Katy Perry, in a reprise of their CMT Crossroads performance several years prior — at the MusiCares Person of the Year gala. Musgraves has had a solo cover of “Here You Come Again” in rotation at concerts dating back to 2014.

“She’s an earth angel,” she said of Parton in a red carpet interview at the 2019 Grammys. “She really is. She’s so cool. She’s so present. What I like about her is she has a keen attention to detail, and that’s obviously why she’s had such a long, amazing career. She really cares about those things, she can put her stamp on things without apology … She paved the way for a lot of us, especially in country music. We wouldn’t really be able to do what we do without her. She’s the first who had all of it together. The sex appeal, the brains, the humor, the songwriting, the outfits, the hair.”

Tennessee is honoring Dolly Parton in a major way following the country music icon’s death.

On Friday (Aug. 28), Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee and Nashville International Airport (BNA) announced plans to rename the travel hub in Parton’s honor following her death earlier this week.

“Dolly Parton’s extraordinary life is forever woven into the fabric of our state,” Lee said in a statement. “At a place where Tennessee welcomes the world, it is fitting that Nashville International Airport would bear the name of our state’s favorite daughter and greet travelers with the enduring legacy of Dolly’s music, generosity, faith, and kindness.”

The announcement comes just days after the Queen of Country died on Aug. 25 following a “brief battle with cancer,” according to her team.

Parton’s team “expressed their appreciation for the extraordinary outpouring of support to honor Dolly,” Lee wrote, adding that they are “touched by the idea and open to continuing the conversation.”

Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell also voiced his support for renaming the airport in a statement shared on Instagram.

“Dolly was in the process of working with us on a remarkable hotel and museum — SongTeller — that she called her love letter to Nashville,” O’Connell wrote. “Now it’s our turn to share a love letter to Dolly — by renaming Nashville International Airport to Dolly Parton International Airport in Nashville.”

The Metro Nashville Airport Authority’s (MNAA) current naming policy, along with Lee’s proposal to rename Nashville International Airport, will be discussed at a meeting scheduled for Sept. 17. Additional details are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, according to the governor’s statement.

“BNA is the front door to Music City, and with that comes a responsibility to reflect the very best of who we are as a community,” MNAA president and CEO Doug Kreulen said.

Earlier this week, a Change.org petition calling for Nashville International Airport to be renamed Dolly Parton International Airport in honor of the singer-songwriter gained significant support. As of Saturday morning (Aug. 29), the petition had collected more than 164,000 signatures.

Tim McGraw is laughing off a tumble he took onstage during his Pawn Shop Guitar Tour.

In fan-captured footage from his concert at Cincinnati’s Riverbend Music Center on Thursday (Aug. 27), the 59-year-old country star took a spill while belting out his 1995 hit “I Like It, I Love It.”

In the clip, McGraw’s cowboy boot appears to get caught in a crevice onstage, sending him to the ground. But the “Humble and Kind” singer quickly got back on his feet and continued singing without missing a beat.

McGraw later poked fun at the onstage mishap in a social media post.

“Cincinnati, you started our weekend off on the right foot even if I couldn’t stay on mine,” he captioned a photo gallery from the show on Instagram. “We appreciate you coming out and singing along! Detroit, you’re up!”

Fans quickly took to the comments section to playfully react to the fall.

“I bet your daughters blew up the family group chat,” one person wrote. Another joked, “bubble wrap him for tonight.” A third commended the singer for his professionalism, writing, “SO GLAD YOU DIDN’T HURT YOURSELF! YOU ARE A REAL PRO YOU JUMPED RIGHT UP AND DIDN’T EVEN MISS A BEAT.”

The Grammy-winning superstar launched his Pawn Shop Guitar Tour in mid-July. The North American trek — featuring support from The Chicks, Lady A, 49 Winchester and Timothy Wayne on select dates — is scheduled to wrap Sept. 29 in West Palm Beach, Florida. From there, he’ll head to Las Vegas in October for a five-night residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

McGraw did not address the death of iconic country singer Dolly Parton during Thursday’s Cincinnati concert, but he paid tribute to her earlier in the week on social media.

“She was an icon and showed us all what was possible, not only as a human but as an entertainer,” McGraw wrote on Instagram. “She was the blueprint, head and shoulders above anyone that came before her and all those of us that have come after.”
