As Lizzo promised, she is “reclaiming” the word “b–ch” on the title track to the singer’s upcoming album of the same name. Lizzo dropped the boldly titled single on Friday (May 1), giving fans the first taste of her third studio LP, which is due on June 5.
The song, which interpolates singer Meredith Brooks’ strident 1997 Billboard Hot 100 No. 2 single of the same name, is the second taste of the album, following on the heels of the smoldering love-me-or-leave-me “Don’t Make Me Love U.”
In a statement describing the inspiration for the follow-up to 2022’s Special, Lizzo said, “Reclaiming the word ‘b—h’ is power — it’s taking a label once used to diminish women and turning it into a declaration of confidence and unapologetic self-love. So many incredible women in music have used the word for positivity, like Meredith Brooks and Missy Elliott. It was only fitting to name my album Bitch because it has become my favorite word when using it on my own terms and because I am 100% that b—h!”
A preview of the song posted on Thursday (April 30) featured an intro from Katt Williams, who warns, “It’s a line, if you cross it, that’s your motherf–kin’ ass!,” a bit taken from the comedian’s 2024 Woke Foke comedy special in which he defended Lizzo against her detractors. The singer included Williams’ follow-up wisdom in the caption to the snippet, “You can be fat, you can be black, but you can’t be no fat black B—H, BITCH drops tonight yall ready?!” in the sneak peek that also included a short bit of the bouncy refrain, “She’s a b—h, She’s a b—h, OK?”
Lizzo first coined the latter phrase on her diamond-selling 2017 single “Truth Hurts,” in which she pronounced herself 100% that … one. She doubled-down on the upcoming LP’s profane title with the provocative cover art, which shows the singer’s right hand flipping the bird, with a miniature version of her subbing in for the middle finger, arms held high above her head in triumph.
The album’s Spotify preview page reveals that it is slated to feature 12 tracks, whose titles include “A Toast,” “Happy 2 Be,” “Don’t Make Me Love U,” “Bitch,” “She Stole My Man,” “Whose Hair Is This,” “Little Black Cat,” “Sexy Ladies, “That Grrrl,” “Too Nice,” “Like a Crime” and “Goodmorning!”

After surprise-debuting the song during Sabrina Carpenter‘s headlining set at Coachella April 17, Madonna dropped the dance floor-ready “Bring Your Love” on Thursday (April 30). The track that unites the iconic pop stars from across generations is from Madonna’s eagerly anticipated 15th studio album, Confessions II, due out on July 3.
“Don’t comment on my ideas/ I don’t want your judgment or your expectations/ Don’t wind me up like a toy/ Your vision of me is a killer of joy,” the women sing on the first verse of the song, with Madonna taking the first two lines before Carpenter comes in and they then team up for the dreamy pre-chorus to the song featuring an incessant, “Vogue”-like beat.
“I know where the bodies are buried/ Don’t try to shut me out/ Don’t try to distract me with numbers/ I did it all for love/ Bring me Sabrina, you’ve got something to say about it?” they sing as they unite for the chorus: “Bring your love, ’cause you cannot shake me/ Bring your love, ’cause you’ll never break me/ Bring your love, ’cause you cannot take me down.”
The lead single, co-produced by Madonna and Confession II collaborator producer Stuart Price, got its world debut when Madonna did an unannounced pop-out during Carpenter’s Coachella set during the 26-year-old singer’s performance of “Juno,” at the song’s pose moment. The track then cut to Madonna’s iconic 1990 single “Vogue” before bouncing into “Bring Your Love.” The song will appear on the upcoming Confessions II, the long-awaited sequel to Madonna’s 2005 dance classic, Confessions on a Dance Floor. The pair closed out the miniset with a run through Madonna’s “Like a Prayer.”
The pair hyped the single’s release earlier in the week with a joint Instagram post in which they posed cheek-to-cheek in a black-and-white picture alongside the caption, “We’ve got something to say about it ♥️.” The post earned a big thumbs-up from pioneering New York techno DJ/producer Kevin Saunderson, who wrote, “This has that timeless dance DNA a little Detroit, a little @innercitydetroit soul, all magic. Respect, Madonna.”
The Carpenter collab follows on the heels of the first full taste of Confessions II, the bubbling electro pop heat mirage “I Feel So Free.”

Rick Ross and French Montana have collided on a handful of tracks as rap titans of the 2010s, but now they’ll be foes on the Verzuz stage.
Rozay and the Bronx native are slated to clash for a Verzuz battle on May 7, according to Complex. It’s all going down at the Apple Music Studios in Los Angeles, as the match-up will stream live on Apple Music starting at 9:30 p.m. ET.
Rick Ross already touched the Verzuz stage when he faced off against 2 Chainz in August 2020, which saw Billboard‘s scorecard give the Biggest Boss a slight edge and the victory. Next month’s battle will mark French’s first time as a headliner in a Verzuz battle.
Rozay and French Montana have joined forces for plenty of hits over the years, so it will be interesting to see who takes ownership of anthems like “Stay Schemin,” “Pop That” and “Marble Floors” in the battle. They’ve also teamed up on tracks such as Rozay’s “Nobody” and “Minks in Miami,” the latter of which arrived in March.
“This will be Rick Ross easiest win ever,” former Hot 97 producer Scottie Beam declared. Tyrese, who faced off against Tank in a March Verzuz battle, is also backing Ross. “Let’s goooooo!!!!!!!!! I promise I Love French….Rick Ross got this one,” he wrote in Complex‘s comment section.
A fan on X joked that this could turn into a Drake concert with both artists boasting potent Drizzy collaborations. “This is gonna be a battle of who got the best Drake features,” they wrote.
Tune into the Rick Ross and French Montana Verzuz on May 7.
The rumors of a a rift between Jack Antonoff and Taylor Swift have been greatly exaggerated. At least according to Bleachers leader Antonoff, who visited Howard Stern’s SiriusXM show on Tuesday (Apr. 28) to plug his band’s upcoming fifth studio album, Everyone For Ten Minutes, and swat away those whispers about why he wasn’t involved in the production and songwriting of Swift’s most recent album, last year’s The Life of a Showgirl.
“I only feel grateful for the work that has happened,” Antonoff said of his decade-long association with Swift, which began on her 2014 1989 album and has spanned 11 albums in total before she re-teamed with Max Martin and Shellback on Showgirl. “Maybe it’s only because I write my own songs and sing them, but I understand that need to have different collaborators and jump around.”
Antonoff, who has written and produced on albums by Kendrick Lamar, Lorde, Sabrina Carpenter, The Chicks, St. Vincent and many others, said his widely varied resumé is proof that jumping around is a totally healthy thing to do. “I don’t think it’s normal to have the same collaborators over and over,” he told Stern. “And when I’ve had it with people, I think it’s a weird miracle.”
Swift had Antonoff’s back as well in her interview with The New York Times for the “30 Greatest Songwriters” issue of the weekend magazine. “Jack Antonoff is a collaborator of mine and one of my best friends,” she said, bringing up the same example Antonoff did on Tuesday in explaining their special relationship.
“We established this thing that we love to do, and we call it the ‘rant bridge’,” she told the Times. “It’s basically like stream of consciousness, endless pouring-out of emotion, intrusive thoughts, blended with metaphor, with discussion, with shouting. You want this rant bridge to feel the most intense of what that feeling is that you’re trying to establish over the course of the song, and you want it to be kind of a crescendo.”
In Antonoff’s explanation to Stern, the “rant bridge” was key to such Swift hits as “Cruel Summer,” which he explained came together thusly: “You spend a whole song — verse and chorus — you know, being super poetic and dancing around something … and then you get to this bridge, and you just crash the f–k out. At that point you’ve earned it, so it’s almost like you can be so free. It’s something that I feel like is one of our very special things … We kind of egg each other on.”
Antonoff also touched on his very Jersey upbringing, the song he considers to be the greatest recording ever made (the Beatles’ “Happiness Is a Warm Gun”), how his former band Fun.’s biggest hit, “We Are Young,” nearly ended up on the Kanye West/Jay-Z Watch the Throne album, as well as the song he wrote for his high school sweetheart, actress Scarlett Johansson and the love-at-first-sight meet-cute with his wife, actress Margaret Qualley.

TOMORROW X TOGETHER is continuing its mental health chapter. The K-pop group is part of a new global campaign announced by UNICEF’s Korean Committee during a press conference held Tuesday (April 28). The campaign, titled TOGETHER FOR TOMORROW, is focused on the mental health of kids around the world.
In the video released with the campaign announcement, HUENINGKAI, TAEHYUN, YEONJUN, BEOMGYU and SOOBIN join children on a sparse set to chat and have fun, as leader SOOBIN narrates the clip in Korean. “How are you feeling today? Rather than trying to change you, we just stay by your side,” SOOBIN begins. “Hard days happen, we’ve been through it too. Asking for help doesn’t mean you are weak. Taking care of yourself and leaning on others for support is a sign of strength. Because together, we can be ready for a better tomorrow.”
At the end of the visual, the K-pop group’s members and the kids jubilantly share the campaign’s title, shouting, “Together for tomorrow!”
TOMORROW X TOGETHER — who has landed 13 releases on the Billboard 200 so far — first kicked off its global youth mental health campaign alongside UNICEF with a visit to the UN agency’s New York City offices in October. “Through our musical journey, we have learned that expressing emotion is a sign of strength,” SOOBIN said in his speech at the time. “Now with our campaign with UNICEF, we want to help create a safe and inclusive space for youth to freely express their emotions.”
During that campaign launch, label BIGHIT MUSIC also pledged $1.4 million to fund youth programs and efforts to destigmatize mental health issues.

After more than 60 years as an active band, The Rolling Stones still repel moss like no other.
The legendary British rockers are teasing what appears to be a new project titled Foreign Tongues, clues for which can be seen on the Rolling Stones’ official social pages. There, the Stones share a post capturing images of posters in the shadows of several world cities, all carrying the group’s familiar lips logo, and the words “Familiar Tongues” repeated in various languages.
A QR code on the posters clicks through to a Rolling Stones microsite, which includes a page selling “Subversive Scents” with products named after classic Stones recordings “Sticky Fingers” and “Urban Jungle.”
See below
The latest, mysterious campaign follows a postering exercise for the band’s alter egos, The Cockroaches, which also carried a QR code. Users who clicked through were taken to a website that was controlled by the Stones’ label, Universal Music. Then, a limited-edition vinyl-only release dropped, bearing the name “Rough & Twisted.”
The Stones last dropped an album in 2023, Hackney Diamonds. The band’s 24th studio collection featured collaborations with Paul McCartney, Elton John, Gaga, Stevie Wonder and the final recordings with late drummer Charlie Watts, and went on to win a Grammy Award for best rock album.
Last December, reports emerged that the Stones had called off a 2026 U.K./European tour, whose dates were never officially announced. According to a report published in Variety citing an unnamed source close to the band, the Stones walked back the plans for the outing, claiming guitarist Keith Richards, 82, was unable to “commit” to another rigorous road outing.
Hackney Diamonds producer Andrew Watt told Rolling Stone last September that he’s producing the follow-up to the Stones’ Grammy-winning 24th album — their first new studio effort in more than 15 years — describing it as like “working for Batman. When the tongue is up in the air, you just go. I can say we did some recording together, but that’s all I can say.” In the same month, Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood insisted that fans were “getting a new album” in 2026.
Ariana Grande is sowing the seeds of a new era.
The pop star announced her highly anticipated eighth studio album Petal via Instagram on Tuesday (April 28). After previously stating that she would need “an extra brain and four more arms” to release a new album this summer, Grande began hinting at the possibility of doing just that last month. One such hint came in the form of a flower emoji in her Instagram bio; others came through in photos of her in a recording studio.
It’s no wonder Grande said she would need a clone of herself to drop a new album soon: Her schedule has been absolutely stacked lately. In November, the star closed out the Wicked saga with the release of Wicked: For Good. Earlier this month, Universal Pictures dropped the trailer for Grande’s next big-screen release, Focker-in-Law, with part 4 of the Meet the Parents films set to be released this Thanksgiving. In 2027, she’ll make her West End debut in a revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park With George. All the while, her makeup venture, R.E.M. Beauty, has been releasing new products and photo shoots starring the singer.
Petal is Grande’s follow-up to her 2024 Billboard 200-topping album Eternal Sunshine. In addition to topping the albums chart, Eternal Sunshine also spawned two Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hits “Yes, And?” and “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love).” Petal will come out in the middle of Grande’s Eternal Sunshine tour, which begins June 8 in Oakland, California, and wraps Sept. 1 in London.

DMA’S are back, and for the first time they’re backed by a major label.
The Australian trio, purveyors of a sound that resonates with fans of ‘90s Britpop, will drop a self-titled set this August through a new global deal with Wonderlick Entertainment partnering with Sony Music Australia and RCA UK.
Their fifth studio album, DMA’S is due out Aug. 7 and will house the previously released jangly cut “My Baby’s Place” and the anthemic “Heatin Park, which dropped this week with an official music video.
DMA’S was written and recorded in the act’s studio in Glebe, Sydney, and Los Angeles, and is said to showcase “the evolution of their signature anthemic sound with fresh sonic textures,” a statement reads.
The band members (Tommy O’Dell, Matt Mason and Johnny Took) co-produce most of the record with Grammy Award-nominated producer Lach Bostock (Mansionair), and with help from Jimi Somewhere and Styalz Fuego.
DMA’S have accumulated more than 500 million streams, nabbed an ARIA Award in 2023 for best group, and in 2023 came out on top of triple j’s inaugural Hottest 100 “Live A Version” countdown with their cover of Cher’s ‘90s dance hit “Believe.” All four of their studio albums have crashed the top 10 on the ARIA Chart, through long-time former label home I Oh You, part of the Mushroom Group.
It’s in the United Kingdom, however, where DMA’S have found their spiritual home. The band’s previous two studio albums, How Many Dreams (No. 3 in 2023), and The Glow (No. 4 in 2020) both cracked the top 10 on the Official U.K. Albums Chart. There, each DMA’S album has charted higher than the last.
DMA’S will support the album in their homeland with a newly-announced East Coast tour, which gets underway Nov. 27 at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall, followed by a concert at Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens on Nov. 28, part of the Live at the Gardens series, and wrap up with a hometown show at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt on Dec. 3. Ticket information can be found at secretsounds.com and livenation.com.au.
But first, a U.K. outing this summer celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the band’s debut album Hills End.

Billie Eilish loves her some Rihanna. For Elle’s Ask Me Anything series accompanying her cover story on Tuesday (April 28), the Grammy-winning singer attempted to manifest a brand new album from Rih.
Eilish echoed the Navy’s sentiment when it comes to R9 while answering what three songs she’s got in heavy rotation at the moment.
“‘I’ll Be Seeing You’ by Billie Holiday, ‘Caribbean Blue’ by Enya [and] ‘Twilight’ by Elliott Smith. If Rihanna ever f—ng makes R9, then I’m excited for that,” she emphatically added.
Rihanna’s last album arrived with 2016’s Anti, which spent two weeks atop the Billboard 200. There hasn’t been much movement on the R9 front in recent months. However, back in February, the superstar posted a video montage to social media, which saw Rih spending hours at the studio during a recent overnight trip.
For those holding out hope, there’s still a possibility for a Rihanna and Eilish link-up. RiRi named Billie Eilish as a dream collaborator during a 2024 interview at a Fenty x Puma event.
“If I could only do a song with Billie Eilish. She’s so good,” she said.
The Oscar-winning singer reacted in disbelief after hearing Rihanna’s kind words. “What in the absolute f–k. oh my god,” she wrote to her IG Story. “what the f–k.”
Eilish expanded on Rihanna’s shout-out in a cover story for Complex in December 2024, where she hailed RiRi as her “idol” and the “complete dream collab.”
“If I could only do a song with Billie Eilish, she’s so good,” she said at the time. “I’ve never met Rihanna. She’s literally my idol. She’s the greatest of all time. She’s my complete dream collab.”
Rihanna has her hands full with her three children at the moment, caring for sons RZA and Riot and daughter Rocki.
When she gets some time, perhaps she can sneak away to check out Billie Eilish’s upcoming concert film — which Eilish co-directed with decorated filmmaker James Cameron — Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D) when it comes to U.S. theaters on May 8.

Kacey Musgraves is teaming up with musicians from her home state of Texas on a trio of upcoming album release shows, with the country star announcing Tuesday (April 28) that she’ll be joined by The Mariachi Brothers — aka the three boys who were detained by ICE earlier this year despite previously performing on Capitol Hill — on the outing.
The shows will take place at Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, Texas, on May 3, 4 and 5, kicking off two days after Musgraves’ new LP Middle of Nowhere is set to drop. The Grammy winner got the word out by simply sharing a poster for the event on Instagram reading, “Kacey Musgraves … with special guests The Mariachi Brothers.”
Below that, the names of McAllen residents Antonio, Caleb and Joshua Gámez-Cuéllar — the sons of Gámez Martínez and Emma Guadalupe Cuéllar López — are displayed. The whole family was arrested by ICE and detained in Texas for about two weeks before they were released in March amid growing unrest over the Donald Trump administration’s immigration enforcement policies, which has included mass deportations and widely protested raids across the country.
Antonio, who is 18, is an award-winning mariachi trumpeter. His band with 14-year-old Caleb and 12-year-old Joshua played on Capitol Hill last year at the invitation of Rep. Monica De La Cruz, a Republican congresswoman who has been a vocal supporter of the twice-impeached president and his immigration policies. When the brothers and their parents were arrested, however, she called for their release and described them as “valued members of the community.”
Like dozens of other musicians, Musgraves has previously spoken out against ICE. In June 2025, she wrote on X, “If protesters can’t wear masks ICE shouldn’t be able to either.”
Arriving Friday (May 1), Middle of Nowhere will mark her sixth studio album and follow up 2024’s Deeper Well, which reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200. The project features collaborations with Miranda Lambert and Willie Nelson. So far, fans have only heard two tracks: lead single “Dry Spell” and the title track.
See Musgraves’ announcement for her performances with The Mariachi Brothers below.
