Dan Reynolds and Minka Kelly’s four-year relationship has reportedly come to an end.
The Imagine Dragons frontman and Ransom Canyon actress have split, People reports. A source close to the former couple told the publication that the breakup happened recently. Billboard has reached out to representatives for Reynolds for confirmation.
The split comes only months after Kelly and Reynolds made their red-carpet debut as a couple at the 2026 Museum of Contemporary Art Gala in Los Angeles on May 30. Kelly later shared photos from the evening on Instagram, calling it “Date night.”
The pair, who were first linked in 2022 after being introduced by a mutual friend, largely kept their relationship out of the limelight. Still, they did share some snapshots of their life together. In July, Kelly posted photos from a Disneyland trip with Reynolds and his four children, captioning the carousel, “No place I’d rather be.” She also shared a loving birthday tribute to Reynolds that month.
Their relationship also crossed into each other’s creative spaces. Reynolds appeared as cattle buyer Billy Brinks on the first season of Kelly’s Netflix drama Ransom Canyon, and Kelly later said she had hoped to find a way to bring his character back for the second season. Reynolds also helped Kelly learn piano for the role, she told People.
Before they met in person, Reynolds said the two connected by exchanging their creative work. Apparently, Kelly shared some pieces from her memoir Tell Me Everything, while Reynolds sent her music he was working on. That early exchange helped establish a connection between the two that eventually bloomed into a four-year romance.
Throughout their relationship, Reynolds was also balancing life as the frontman of Imagine Dragons. The band has remained a major force on the Billboard charts, with hits including “Radioactive,” “Demons,” “Believer” and “Thunder” becoming defining songs for the group’s career and discography. They’ve also had plenty of albums hit the Billboard 200, with their most recent 2024 album Loom debuting at No. 22 on the Billboard 200.
Reynolds shares four children with his ex-wife, Aja Volkman, and he previously spoke about taking a careful approach to Kelly’s relationship with his kids, saying they had grown to love her.
Jennifer Nettles, Carter Faith, Margo Price and Carly Pearce are among the country artists leading the soundtrack to the upcoming Netflix original movie Heartland, starring Jessica Chastain. The soundtrack will release Nov. 13 on Netflix Music, in conjunction with the Shana Feste-directed film’s release the same day.
Nettles and Faith are also part of the cast, which centers on retired country singer Misty Jones (Chastain), who is investigating the disappearance of her niece (Faith). In searching for her niece, Jones is forced to grapple with not only her past, but also an unscrupulous music industry. In the film, Nettles portrays a fellow country singer, Winnie Jo Lean. Others appearing in the film include Garrett Hedlund and Wynn Everette.
The soundtrack also includes performances from Ross Lynch, Heart Sisters, singer/songwriter Trannie Anderson and more.
This isn’t Chastain’s first country music-related project; the actress previously portrayed country singer Tammy Wynette in the 2022 Showtime miniseries George & Tammy, for which she won the Actor Award (then known as a SAG Award) for outstanding female actor in a miniseries or television movie.
Nettles, known for both her solo work and her music as part of Sugarland, has previously played roles in films including Harriet, The Righteous Gemstones, Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors and Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love.

Piero, the Argentine singer/songwriter whose colloquial, yet refined songs and beautiful, clear voice defined generations of Latin fans, has died. He was 81 years old. His death was confirmed on his social media accounts.
Born Piero Antonio Franco De Benedictis in Gallipoli, Italy, the artist later known simply as Piero sprung into international consciousness with his debut album, Mi Viejo (My Old Man), which included the song of the same name.
The track (written with José Tcherkaski), an unsparingly sincere yet touching ode to his father (“Old man, my dear old man; now you walk slowly; as if forgiving the wind; I’m your blood, old man; I’m your silence, I’m your time”) became an anthem for fathers throughout Latin America. To date, it is performed at birthday parties up and down the continent as the ultimate tribute for fathers.
The success of “Mi Viejo” propelled Piero to become one of the leaders of Latin America’s singer/songwriter tradition. Accompanied by his guitar, he was the ultimate troubadour, capable of songs like the lilting “Llegando, Llegaste,” about love at first sight, or 1970’s “Pedro Nadie,” which incorporated social commentary.
Piero’s writings became increasingly political with time, and in the 1970s, fearful for his life during the military regime, he lived abroad, including in Spain and Colombia — where he was beloved — and returning to Argentina in 1981.
Piero remained musically active throughout his life, touring actively throughout Latin America.
In 2016, he was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Latin Recording Academy, and his music was recently used for an Yves Saint Laurent fashion show.
