Saturday Night Live‘s Weekend Update took aim at Tucker Carlson on Saturday night (May 9), with the former Fox News host portrayed by featured player Jeremy Culhane raging about the Met Gala, slamming the Michael biopic and closing with his most offensive hot take yet.
Appearing alongside co-hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che, the sketch version of Carlson opened by unloading on the annual fashion fundraiser at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
“Let’s all prance around in our $100,000 clown outfits and watch the American empire crumble,” he said. “What are we doing? Come on.”
When Jost noted that Carlson clearly didn’t enjoy the event, the character replied sarcastically: “Oh no, I loved it. Because when I go to a museum, I don’t want to learn about history. No, I want to look at The Rock in a skirt. Do you smell what the Rock is cooking? Because I do — it’s gender confusion.” He then turned his attention to Madonna: “She named herself after the Virgin Mary. And you want to know my favorite thing about the mother of Jesus Christ? The big pirate ship on her head.” On Heidi Klum’s veiled statue look: “The left has finally gotten what they’ve always wanted. They put the Statue of Liberty in a burqa.”
Jost pointed out that Carlson actually lives in Maine, which sent the character into a conspiracy tangent about the state’s silent “E.” “What does the E even stand for? Oh, I know: ‘Euphoria.’ And no, I’m not talking about the feeling I get when I press one for English.”
Culhane-as-Carlson then turned to the Michael biopic — taking issue not with the film’s handling of Michael Jackson’s alleged crimes, but with something else entirely.
“The movie ends in 1988, so obviously they avoided something serious that needs to be acknowledged,” he said. “The part of Michael Jackson’s life no one wants to talk about anymore. The part when he was a white man. Sorry, kids, Michael Jackson doesn’t get to live a beautiful white life anymore. ‘Shamona’ — more like ‘shame on ya.’” The segment closed with Carlson’s take on A$AP Rocky’s Met Gala look: “He was on the red carpet wearing my least favorite color, African American.”
Saturday’s episode was hosted by Matt Damon, with Noah Kahan serving as musical guest. SNL Season 51 closes next week with Will Ferrell hosting and Paul McCartney as musical guest.
Aitana brought together nearly 18,000 people on Saturday (May 9) at the Municipal Stadium Antonio Peroles in Almería, Spain, where she kicked off her Cuarto Azul World Tour.
The show began with the singer performing “6 de Febrero” from the intimacy of a bedroom — lying on a white bed atop a two-level structure set up in the center of the stage, with her musicians positioned below. The stage design, built as an open house with stairs, platforms and different rooms, changed colors and atmospheres as the show progressed, accompanied by giant screens and lighting effects.
Dressed in a custom nude look designed by Devol Studio and personalized boots by Hispanitas, Aitana moved between the more intimate moments of her repertoire and more energetic ones. The setlist focused primarily on her most recent album, Cuarto Azul (2025), although she also revisited songs from earlier stages of her career, like “Mon Amour,” “Vas a Quedarte” and “Gran Vía.”
After performing “No Te Has Ido y Ya Te Extraño,” the Spanish star paused for the first time to greet the audience. “Welcome to our little piece of Cuarto Azul,” said the singer before hinting that the show would also include “little reminders” of previous albums and where she comes from.
Songs like “Miamor” and “Las Babys” elicited an immediate response from the audience, who sang practically every word from the front row to the stands. During “Miamor,” the fans sang most of the first verse on their own, while “Con Los Ángeles” ended up being one of the most celebrated moments of the night.
The concert also allowed for more spontaneous moments. Aitana read signs, received gifts from fans and spoke several times about the emotional connection she has with her latest album. Before performing “Desde Que Ya No Hablamos,” she explained that she didn’t want to leave out a song that represents “the darkest part” of the set, even though it’s not one of the fans’ favorites. “Many of the songs were written while I was in Miami and feeling very sad,” she recalled during one of the most intimate moments.
The finale arrived with “Superestrella,” one of her biggest recent hits, which reached No. 8 on Billboard‘s Hot Latin Pop Songs chart and No. 2 on Spain Songs.
With the Cuarto Azul World Tour, Aitana will spend the next few months touring Spain before heading to Latin America in October for a series of dates in Colombia, Chile, Argentina and Mexico. Noah Kahan made his return to Saturday Night Live on Saturday night (May 9), joining host Matt Damon as musical guest for Season 51’s penultimate episode — his second SNL appearance since his breakthrough 2023 debut.
The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter appeared on the show two weeks after releasing The Great Divide, his fourth studio album, out April 24 via Mercury Records, performing album tracks “Doors” and “The Great Divide” for the Studio 8H audience.
The album debuted at No. 1 in both the United States and United Kingdom, with the former marking the best first-week sales for a rock album in over a decade. Produced by Gabe Simon and Aaron Dessner of The National, the 17-track record has been widely praised as a significant artistic step forward for Kahan.
In the lead-up to Saturday’s appearance, Kahan delivered a stripped-back Tiny Desk performance featuring album tracks “American Cars,” “The Great Divide” and “Paid Time Off,” alongside Stick Season fan favorite “Orange Juice.”
He also appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to discuss the album, and attended this year’s TIME100 Gala after being named among TIME’s 100 Most Influential People of 2026, where he was honored by Marcus Mumford, who wrote: “Musically, he brings us closer to our humanity in the same way some of the great ’60s folk songwriters did: pairing lyrics set in a particular space and time with traditionally infused pop melodies like Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell at their best.”
Saturday’s episode also marked a milestone for host Matt Damon, who returned to Studio 8H for his third hosting stint. Promotional materials leaned into the shared New England heritage of both artists — Damon hailing from Boston, Kahan from Strafford, Vermont.
Kahan also recently launched Noah Kahan: Out of Body, a Netflix documentary that premiered at SXSW 2026, where it received the 24 Beats Per Second Audience Award. The film follows Kahan’s rise to stadium-level stardom and addresses his ongoing struggles with anxiety and body dysmorphia.
Kahan’s first SNL appearance in December 2023 saw him perform “Dial Drunk” and “Stick Season” from his breakthrough album We’ll All Be Here Forever. That record produced the multi-platinum hit “Stick Season,” which peaked at No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned Kahan two Grammy nominations. His Great Divide World Tour includes four record-breaking sold-out nights at Boston’s Fenway Park — making him the first artist in history to play and sell out four shows at the venue — as well as additional arena dates in London, Dublin, Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland.

Riley Green is heading to The Voice.
The 37-year-old country star announced on social media Saturday (May 9) that he will join as a coach for season 30 of the NBC music competition series.

Green shared the news ahead of his concert at Ameris Bank Amphitheatre in Alpharetta, Georgia, on Saturday. He is currently on his Cowboy As It Gets arena tour across North America.
“I guess y’all can start calling me coach… see ya this fall. @nbcthevoice #thevoice,” Green captioned the announcement on his Instagram account.
The “Worst Way” singer joins previously announced coaches Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine for the upcoming season of The Voice, which airs this fall on NBC and streams on Peacock. Levine’s contestant, singer Alexia Jayy, was crowned the winner of Season 29 in April 2025.
Green’s announcement post features a clip of him listening to voicemail on his phone left by Clarkson, who politely greets him using her full name and addresses him by his.
“That is officially the last time we’re gonna use each other’s full name ’cause we’re not tools,” she says in the message, which has her welcoming him to The Voice. “But we’ve never officially met. I’m super stoked to coach alongside you.”
Clarkson also kindly tells him she’s a “superfan” in the message — a “big fan, but needless to say, fan and all it’s a competition.” So she’s sent him a special gift: his personalized The Voice coach chair, adorned with duck calls. “I think you’re gonna need the practice because Kelly’s gonna whoop that ass,” she quips.
Comments on Green’s post include a friendly congrats from host Carson Daly, who wrote, “Welcome to the fam!! Can’t wait to hang! You drink right? Pls God say yes.”
Green has been on a winning streak of his own. The singer-songwriter has scored four No. 1 hits on Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart, including “Worst Way” and the Ella Langley collaboration “You Look Like You Love Me,” and has earned multiple CMA and ACM Awards to date.
He is also set to perform at the upcoming ACM Awards on May 17, where he is nominated for male artist of the year, album of the year [for Don’t Mind If I Do (Deluxe)], artist-songwriter of the year, and music event of the year for “Don’t Mind If I Do,” featuring Langley.
In April, Green made his acting debut on the CBS series Marshals, in which he plays Garrett, a former Navy SEAL who arrives in Montana while carrying personal demons he needs to put to rest.

The roster of recordings inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame always spans genres and generations, so it stands to reason that the annual Grammy Hall of Fame gala is a diverse and eclectic program.
The performances at the third annual gala, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, on Friday (May 8), ranged from Josh Groban singing “Brucia La Terra,” the Sicilian-language version of the lushly romantic love theme from The Godfather, to Funkadelic mastermind George Clinton, joined by Erykah Badu and the group’s guitarist Blackbyrd McKnight, performing “Maggot Brain” and “Can You Get to That,” the first two tracks from the group’s 1971 album, Maggot Brain.

Broadcast journalist Anthony Mason once again hosted the event. Fourteen recordings were inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, though only seven were spotlighted with live performances.
Heart, Lucinda Williams and Clinton each performed songs from their classic albums that were inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, while in other cases, artists covered songs that were inducted. Take 6 performed the Soul Stirrers’ 1951 gospel classic “Jesus Gave Me Water.” Taylor Hanson performed Nick Drake’s “Pink Moon,” the title track from his 1972 album. Isabel Marie performed Selena’s “No Me Queda Mas” from her 1994 album, Amor Prohibido.
In addition, Norah Jones performed a two-song set as she received the Ray Charles Architect of Sound Award, and Teddy Swims and Groban each performed two songs as part of a tribute to Warner Records, this year’s label honoree.

6ix9ine is stirring up controversy once again, this time over comments about his girlfriend’s pregnancy.
The 30-year-old rapper (real name Daniel Hernandez, formerly known as Tekashi 6ix9ine) made the remarks during an unborn child’s gender reveal party, telling a group of streamers that the pregnancy would be terminated if the baby is a girl.

“If it’s not a boy, it’s an a-bor-tion,” 6ix9ine says in a clip from a livestream at the event, shared by TMZ.
The streamers — Adin Ross, Clavicular and N3ON — appear noticeably caught off guard, awkwardly laughing off the comment before 6ix9ine leads them over to his girlfriend, Aliday Alter. The streamers then ask Alter what gender she thinks the baby is, and she laughs, saying it’s a girl. 6ix9ine then doubles down on his abortion claims, saying she is in agreement.
“She’s down,” the rapper says. “She’s open-minded.”
Luckily, it was later revealed during the party that the couple is expecting a baby boy.
Alter first shared news of her pregnancy in April, posting a photo of herself on the beach in a cheetah print dress that showed off her baby bump. She and 6ix9ine have been dating for about a year, according to TMZ.
“My world is about to change,” she wrote on Instagram.
6ix9ine is already reportedly a father to a 12-year-old daughter with ex-girlfriend Sara Molina, as well as another daughter, 7, with Marlayna M.
In January, 6ix9ine turned himself in to begin a three-month sentence for violating the terms of his supervised release tied to his racketeering case. The Brooklyn native was found with cocaine and MDMA and also admitted to assaulting a man who allegedly taunted him about cooperating with authorities during a trip to a Florida mall.
Charli xcx can’t get her mind off of someone, and even humors the thought “maybe I could be gay,” on “I Keep On Thinking Bout You Every Single Day and Night,” a song added as the B-side of “Rock Music” on vinyl.

“I’m probably not,” she sings while cheekily pondering her sexuality on the new track, but adds, “I’ve always wondered if you were actually gay/ Or if that’s somеthing you just say for your career.”
Maybe Charli doesn’t want her unnamed muse, but wants to be her? “I Keep On Thinking Bout You Every Single Day and Night,” set to minimalist production and a fleeting 1:32 runtime — and a black-and-white video shot in Kyoto, Japan, on one handheld camera acting as voyeur to Charli sensually ascending a stairwell and rolling around a dance studio floor — opens with a lyric referencing experimental art of the mid-century French New Wave movement: “Maybe we could become each other/ Like somethin’ out of a Jacques Rivette movie or somethin’.”
Hazy as the root (and object) of her obsession is, Charli — who in her current real life is married to George Daniel of The 1975 — gets direct to the point, on repeat, by the chorus: “I keep thinkin’ ’bout you, every single day/ I keep thinkin’ ’bout you, еvery single night.”
The track was announced on Instagram on Saturday (May 8), the day after Charli debuted new single “Rock Music.” The artist posted it on @b.sides, her side account where she puts behind-the-scenes bits that don’t make it to main.
“i keep on thinking bout you every single day and night’ the b side to rock music. i went to kyoto for six weeks to shoot a film. while we were there, i made this video with aidan. only available on vinyl & here on b.sides. so rip the audio if you want it xx,” Charli wrote to fans via @b.sides on Saturday.
At press time, the just-listed “Rock Music” 7″ is sold out on Charli’s official webstore. The product page does offer the names of record stores in the U.S., U.K. and France receiving limited quantities of the vinyl release.
