The world champion New York Knicks will take over Monday night’s (June 15) episode of The Tonight Show two days after their comeback defeat of the San Antonio Spurs in game five of the NBA Finals on Saturday night in Texas. According to a press release announcing the special episode, host Jimmy Fallon will sit down with the 2026 NBA champs, including series MVP Jalen Brunson, as well as his teammates Karl-Anthony Towns, Josh Hart, OG Anunoby and Mikal Bridges.
Fallon called it “a booking 53 years in the making” in a statement, referring to the more than half-century since the team’s last NBA title in 1973. In addition to the rest of the Knicks teams, head coach Mike Brown, the Knicks City Dancers and other as-yet-unannounced guests, the night will feature a special performance from the Wu-Tang Clan.
The Staten Island legends hit the hardwood at Madison Square Garden last Wednesday (June 11) for a much-needed halftime boost during game four of the NBA Finals, where they unleashed a medley of hits including “Bring da Ruckus,” “Method Man” and “C.R.E.A.M.” at a point in the game when the home team were down 76-49 at the break. With a shot of Wu York Knicks energy to hype them up, Brunson and company mounted a historic comeback, beating back the biggest deficit in NBA playoffs history to notch a 107-106 win that put them one game away from the promised land.
Knicks superfan Fallon was on hand at MSG during the history-making game four comeback, losing his mind along with other celebrity fans including Taylor Swift, Este and Alana Haim — who wore home made punny Knicks shirts — as well as unofficial team mascot actor Timothée Chalamet, Chris Rock, Adam Sandler, Sydney Sweeney, OG megafan Spike Lee, Tracy Morgan, Ben Stiller and many more.
According to NBC, in a tribute to the team’s super-loyal fanbase, the entire studio audience for Monday’s show will be made up of die-hard fans who were unable to attend the finals in person.

Bonnaroo first issued an update that performances were paused due to storms in the area just before 2 pm. local time Sunday.
Soon after, organizers evacuated Centeroo, the main festival grounds. A statement was published online via the festival’s official social media pages: “Please calmly head to the nearest exit and shelter in a vehicle. Follow staff instructions and monitor festival communications including social media, Bonnaroo Radio on 101.5 FM, and app notifications for updates. If you do not have a vehicle, find a friend to take shelter with. We expect this storm to continue for the next 2-3 hours with moderate to heavy rain and lightning. We’ll keep you updated!”
Around 4 p.m. local time, Bonnaroo posted an update announcing the severe weather had passed, but Centeroo wasn’t ready to be reopened just yet. “Allow us some time to prepare to reopen, finalize the new performance schedule and then…get ready! It’s going to be a very muddy and LEGENDARY final night on The Farm!” they advised.
By 5:30 p.m., festival grounds were officially open again, and the night’s updated schedule was released.

Listeners voted in a poll published Friday (June 12) on Billboard, choosing the K-pop superstars’ latest digital release as their favorite new music.
“Come Over” flew to the top spot in a landslide win against new releases from artists like Olivia Rodrigo, Cultura Profética, Charles Wesley Godwin, KATSEYE, Jack White, Bebe Rexha and more. At the poll’s closing time on Sunday, BTS ARMY kept the group in the lead with more than 86% of the vote.
“Come Over” — which has members SUGA, RM and j-hope among its list of co-writers, and which was co-produced by Cirkut with SUGA and Ammo — had its streaming debut on Friday after previously only being available on the physical deluxe vinyl edition of ARIRANG.
Its streaming premiere was timed alongside BTS’ annual fan celebration, Festa, and a lyric video for the song was uploaded to YouTube on release day.
With some lyrics in Korean and some in English, the translated chorus of “Come Over” has the septet pleading to reconnect with the subject of the song: “Yeah, I’m lost, can I come over?/ Yeah, I’m lost, can I come over?/ I just wanna say I’m sorry.”
Coming in second place behind BTS’ “Come Over” is Olivia Rodrigo’s You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love album, which dropped on Friday. Rodrigo also released a new music video for album track “Stupid Song.”

Madonna fans got a preview of one of her new Confessions II tracks this weekend courtesy of Martin Garrix. “Bizarre,” a song that will appear on Madonna’s imminent album release (street date: July 3), had a surprise debut during Garrix’s performance at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, Saturday night (June 13).

Garrix played “Bizarre” set to a pulsing dance beat and amplified with a light show in pink and purple, the apparent color scheme of the Confessions II era. His June 13 gig was the third of a trio of nights at Barclays on his Americas Tour.
On Sunday evening, Garrix shared a video featuring the song sneak peek from Saturday’s concert on Instagram.
“Who knew love could be so bizarre?” Madonna’s heard singing on the track’s hook. “Only love could be so bizarre.”
“Bizarre” is track 10 on Madonna’s 16-song collection Confessions II, and the fourth tune to be teased ahead of the July release of her 15th full-length studio album. She first released album opener “I Feel So Free,” followed by the Sabrina Carpenter collab “Bring Your Love,” in April. “Love Sensation” arrived in early June.
Confessions II, the sequel to 2005’s Confessions on a Dance Floor, has her reuniting with producer Stuart Price and is the first album she’ll release since her return to Warner Records. It Madonna’s first new album in several years, following the 2019 Billboard 200 chart No. 1 Madame X.
Madonna recently unveiled CONFESSIONS II – The Film, which premiered at Tribeca Festival in New York City and is now available to watch on YouTube. New York Knicks NBA championship merch has dropped online following the team’s dominant 4-1 series victory over the San Antonio Spurs to capture the 2026 NBA title.
In front of stars like Taylor Swift, A$AP Rocky, Fat Joe and Timothee Chalamet, the Knicks took home their first NBA championship since 1973, following a 94-90 win over the Spurs Saturday night.
The Knicks were led by guard Jalen Brunson, who dropped 45 points to lead the team to victory. The 29-year-old also took home the NBA Finals MVP trophy. But that isn’t the only memento Brunson will take home from his big championship win: the point guard also now has his own official bobblehead.

Oh, Mary! is a Tony Award-winning, comedic “one-act play that finally examines the forgotten life and dreams of Mrs. Lincoln, through the lens of an idiot (playwright Cole Escola),” the production’s official synopsis says. Rudolph currently portrays the “miserable, suffocated” first lady “in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. Unrequited yearning, alcoholism, and suppressed desires abound in this 80-minute one-act play.” The play’s plot centers on Mary Todd’s unhappiness with her marriage to the then-U.S. president — a reimagining of the couple’s story that has President Lincoln closeted (though it’s a fictional story, some historians do believe he was queer), and Mary Todd drunk and dreaming of being a showgirl.
“This play is about a woman with a dream that no one around her understands,” Escola told NPR. “A dream that the whole world is telling her is stupid and doesn’t make any sense.”
At the 2025 Tony Awards, Escola — who not only wrote the book, but originated the lead role of Mary as its first performer — was named best leading actor in a play, while Oh, Mary! director Sam Pinkleton took home best direction of a play.
Following Rudolph, Megan Stalter is slated to take over the role of Mary next, for a 10-week stint beginning July 6.
Swift received her Songwriters Hall of Fame honor Thursday night (June 11) at a ceremony held at the Marriott Marquis Hotel. Sombr performed two Swift classics in tribute — “Cardigan” and “Dear John” — with the honoree and her parents softly singing along, from heir table in front of him. Steven Spielberg saluted Swift, who’s the youngest woman ever inducted into the SHOF, by introducing her to the stage for her speech.
“If I look back at my entire 23-year career in music, the ups and downs and industry battles, the trials and tribulations, the cheers and tears and dogpiling of doubt, the criticisms — both fair and unfair — the complete loss of privacy, the world tours and ego wars, and the twists of fate, the absolute magical chaos of this path that I chose when I was too young to remember it even being a choice at all, songwriting was the easiest thing I ever did,” Swift said in her speech. “Not because it didn’t take effort. It definitely did. Not that it wasn’t frustrating at times, because it could be. And not that my songwriting didn’t haunt me relentlessly until I cracked the perfect internal rhyme scheme for the third line of the second verse before my teachers called me out in class for not paying attention, because that definitely happened.”
She continued, “But when I say that songwriting was the easiest part for me, I think what I mean is that it was instinctual. No one taught me how to do it. I had to be taught how to entertain a crowd. And learn choreography, and be less annoying and navigate the industry and fiercely protect my own sanity through difficult lessons and massive amounts of trial and error and chaos and calamity. But songwriting for me was pretty much the only thing I naturally did.”
Last week she unveiled an original song penned for Toy Story 5, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” which she debuted live on piano on Tuesday at the film’s world premiere. Swift also performed the Toy Story mainstay “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” as a duet with Randy Newman at the premiere.
Oliver Tree has reportedly died following a helicopter crash in Brazil. He was 32.
The genre-blending singer, songwriter and producer was among six people killed when two helicopters collided over Rio de Janeiro on Sunday (June 14), according to CNN Brazil and the Associated Press.

Tree, whose full name was Oliver Tree Nickell, was traveling through South America as part of his World’s First World Tour.
The other victims were identified as passengers Lucas Vignale, Gaspar Prim and Lucas Brito Chaves, along with pilots Alexandre Souza and Charles Marsillac.
The collision reportedly occurred in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, a neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro’s western zone. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
Billboard has reached out to Tree’s representatives for comment.
The California-born artist released his fourth studio album, Love You Madly Hate You Badly, in April. Known for his signature bowl haircut and eccentric persona, Tree performed in São Paulo on June 6 and was scheduled to play Lisbon, Portugal, in early July. Additional tour dates were planned across the United States, Europe, Australia and China.
Born on June 29, 1993, in Santa Cruz, California, Tree launched his music career with the EP, Demons, in 2013. He gained wider attention with the 2016 single “When I’m Down,” which helped lead to a deal with Atlantic Records the following year.
Tree released four studio albums through Atlantic: 2020’s Ugly Is Beautiful, 2022’s Cowboy Tears, 2023’s Alone in a Crowd and 2026’s Love You Madly Hate You Badly. Before signing with the label, he independently released the album Splitting Branches under the moniker Tree in 2013.
Among his biggest hits, “Life Goes On” reached No. 7 on Billboard‘s Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart in 2022. His debut major-label album, Ugly Is Beautiful, topped Billboard‘s Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart in 2020. And “Miss You,” his collaboration with Robin Schulz, climbed to No. 4 on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart in 2022.

Following the historic win, music stars including Cardi B, Fat Joe, Alicia Keys and Jennifer Lopez took to social media to celebrate the franchise’s first championship since 1973.
Cardi B documented her over-the-top reaction in an Instagram Live video, leaping out of bed and running excitedly through her house while screaming, “Oh my God!” and “We won!” She later explained that she needed to get ready to go out because “the streets are calling me.”
Fat Joe, a longtime Knicks supporter who has regularly cheered on the team from courtside seats, also marked the occasion on social media.
“Never give up,” Joe captioned an Instagram photo of himself posing alongside the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy.
The rapper also shared several celebratory posts, including a courtside video himself alongside actor Timothée Chalamet and actress Teyana Taylor.
Alicia Keys joined the festivities by posting a video of a massive crowd flooding the streets of New York City after the win. In the clip, fans could be heard singing “Empire State of Mind,” her 2009 hit collaboration with Jay-Z.
“Empire State of Mind!!!!!!” she captioned the Instagram post.
Jennifer Lopez delivered one of the night’s most memorable reactions, sharing a video of herself on Instagram watching the game’s final moments from home. As the game ended, the Bronx native jumped up in celebration before collapsing onto her couch while shouting, “Yes!” and “Oh, my God!”
Lopez accompanied the clip with a heartfelt message reflecting on her lifelong connection to the team.
“Congratulations to the New York Knickerbockers, NBA Champions!!!!!” Lopez began. “I remember the last time the Knicks were making a run for the championship and rushing home every game day from the set to watch Ewing, Starks and Oakley make a hell of a run.”
She continued, “We have all been waiting patiently for this day for years. Thank you for uniting our city again…for uniting the world. You restored faith, hope and belief in that there’s nothing we can’t do!! Hard work, goodness and teamwork pays off! You set the city on fire!! Proud to be from the block!! You already know. Knicks forever. CONGRATULATIONS!! Love, Jenny.”
The Michael Jackson biopic Michael has pulled ahead of the Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody as the top-grossing musician biopic of all time. As of Sunday (June 14), Michael has grossed $932.2 million. Bohemian Rhapsody has grossed $911 million.
Michael still has a ways to go to become the top-grossing biopic (not just the top-grossing musician biopic) of all time: Oppenheimer, Christopher Nolan’s 2023 biopic of theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, who helped develop the first nuclear weapons during World War II, has grossed $975.8 million worldwide.
According to Box Office Mojo figures, international ticket sales account for 61.1% of Michael’s worldwide boxoffice total to date. (The remainder is from the U.S. and Canada.) By way of comparison, international ticket sales accounted for 76.2% of Bohemian Rhapsody’s worldwide boxoffice total.
Jackson has a long history of ranking No. 1 on lists, dating back to The Jackson 5 landing their first No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with “I Want You Back” in January 1970.
Jackson and Mercury have much in common. Both rose to fame in groups, The Jackson 5 and Queen, respectively. Both are widely seen as two of the greatest showmen of all time. And both died years before their time. Mercury died in 1991 at age 45 of complications from AIDS. Jackson died in 2009 at age 50 of cardiac arrest caused by acute propofol intoxication.
The two superstars crossed paths in the early 1980s, when Jackson attended Queen concerts in Los Angeles. They occasionally met for dinner and even recorded three demo tracks together that went unfinished.
Another common bond: There were successful theatrical productions based on both artists’ music. The Queen musical, We Will Rock You, opened on London’s West End in 2002. MJ: The Musical has been a fixture on Broadway since Dec. 6, 2021.
