Gosho Aoyama’s Meitantei Conan (Detective Conan/Case Closed) Vol. 109 hits No. 1 on the Billboard Japan Book Hot 100 chart released Oct. 22.
Released Oct. 16, the volume debuts at No. 1, dominating brick-and-mortar and e-commerce (EC) while placing No. 14 in e-books. The volume reveals the untold pasts of Chihaya Hagiwara and Jinpei Matsuda, who played key roles in this spring’s animated movie Detective Conan: Fallen Angel of the Highway. Last week’s No. 1, Taiki Kawakami, Fuse and Mitz Vah’s Tensei Shitara Suraimu Datta Ken (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime) Comic Edition Vol. 33, slips to No. 2 while topping e-books and hitting No. 2 for brick-and-mortar.
Yu Nagira’s Nanji, Hoshi no Gotoku climbs 4-3, leading both subscriptions and social media and placing No. 3 in brick-and-mortar, marking its 49th week on the chart. The film adaptation — starring Ryusei Yokohama and Suzu Hirose and directed by Michihito Fujii — opened Oct. 9, and the tracking period corresponds to its second week in theaters.
Debuting at No. 4 is Katarina and Ryosuke Fuji’s Shangri-La Frontier Vol. 28, which places No. 4 in brick-and-mortar and No. 2 in e-books. Released Oct. 16, the volume brings the representative match between Wolfgang and Schwarzer Wolf to its decisive bout, pitting Sunraku against Psyger-100 — two players who share the same goal of defeating Lycagon but have taken different paths to get there. The TV anime’s third season is set to air for two consecutive quarters starting Jan. 10, 2027.
Daisuke Ashihara’s World Trigger Vol. 30 slips 2-5, placing No. 5 in brick-and-mortar and No. 4 in e-books. Following the Oct. 15 release of its paperback edition, Akiko Abe’s Cafuné surges 46-6, placing No. 2 in social media, No. 7 in subscriptions and No. 10 in brick-and-mortar, and logging its 48th week on the chart.
Nagira’s Hoshi wo Amu rises 18-7. The sequel to Nanji, Hoshi no Gotoku places No. 3 in social media, giving Nagira two titles in the top 10. Afro’s Yurucamp Vol. 19 lands at No. 8 (up from No. 10), with Hiromu Arakawa and Yoshiki Tanaka’s Arslan Senki Vol. 25 at No. 9 (down from No. 3). Rounding out the top 10 is the debut of Seimaru Amagi and Fumiya Sato’s Kindaichi Papa no Jikenbo Vol. 5, which places No. 9 in brick-and-mortar and No. 15 in EC.
The Billboard Japan Book Hot 100 is a comprehensive chart combining physical books, e-books, subscriptions such as library loans, and social media buzz. Below are the top 10 titles on this week’s list, tracking the week from Oct. 12 to 18.

If you’ve watched KATSEYE perform, you already know Daniela can command a stage. Between the choreography, coordinated outfits and full glam, the singer knows how to put on a show. But when she’s not performing in front of thousands of fans, her wardrobe looks a little different.
That’s the side of Daniela fans are getting to see in her new campaign with Lounge. The KATSEYE member is the first face of CAST. by Lounge, a new talent-led platform from the British fashion brand that launched Thursday (Oct. 22). Built around the brand’s “Comfort Made Sexy” philosophy, the campaign offers a closer look at Daniela away from the spotlight, marking the latest step in Lounge’s expansion beyond lingerie into fashion.
“I was so excited about this partnership because I love that LOUNGE is all about feeling confident and comfortable in your own skin,” Daniela tells Billboard exclusively. “As a dancer and performer, I’m in so many different looks for work, so I love having pieces that make me feel good and are still comfortable.”
And what does Daniela actually wear when she’s off the clock? “My personal style is definitely cool chic with a little Y2K influence,” she says. “I love mixing timeless, effortless pieces. I’m drawn to color and love experimenting with different shades, textures, and silhouettes. I like my outfits to feel a little edgy and playful while still being feminine and put-together.”
The partnership comes during a particularly busy year for KATSEYE. The group’s third EP, WILD, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in August with 170,000 equivalent album units earned in its first week, according to Luminate. The six-member group is also in the middle of its Wildword Tour, which kicked off in Dublin on Sept. 1 before making its way to North America earlier this month.
For Daniela, who grew up dancing, watching the group’s audiences grow has been one of the most rewarding parts of the experience. “Honestly, getting to see how much the audience has grown and hearing everyone sing along to our songs is still surreal,” she says. “Sometimes we’re onstage and I have a moment where I look out at the crowd and think about how far we’ve come. Growing up dancing, I always dreamed of performing, so getting to experience this with the girls and our fans is something I’ll never take for granted.”

Her Cuban and Venezuelan heritage has also helped shape the performer she’s become, influencing everything from her approach to dance to the energy she brings onstage. “My Latin roots are such a big part of who I am, and they’re something I’m really proud of,” she explains. “I think my heritage naturally influences the way I express myself, especially through dance, music, and the energy I bring to performing.”
Beyond the chart milestones and growing crowds, Daniela says being part of KATSEYE has taught her to embrace her individuality rather than worry about meeting everyone’s expectations. “Being part of KATSEYE has taught me so much, not just as a performer but as a person,” she says. “I’m learning to trust myself more, embrace what makes me different, and remember that I don’t have to be perfect to feel confident.”

The group is also looking ahead to Sophia Laforteza’s return. The singer stepped away from activities in August to focus on her mental health, with HYBE and Geffen Records confirming that she is expected to rejoin KATSEYE in January 2027. “Having Sophia back with us is so special,” Daniela says. “We’re a family, so having everyone together again means a lot. I’ve missed sharing those moments with her, both onstage and behind the scenes.”
And while fans have gotten to know Daniela through KATSEYE, she’s eager to explore more opportunities outside the group, particularly in fashion and other creative projects. “I think there’s still so much of me that I want people to get to know!” she says. “I’d love to keep exploring different sides of my personality through fashion, music, and other creative projects. I love experimenting and stepping outside my comfort zone, so hopefully fans will get to see more of that side of me.”

Never meet your heroes. That is unless you’re Adéla and your hero is Nicole Kidman, then go for gold.
With two songs on the Billboard Hot 100 right now, Adéla is having a real moment, and she’s waving the flag for her homeland, Slovakia.
If it all feels unreal, bizarre even, Adéla can be forgiven. Ever since she learned to read and write, her mind has been occupied with the American dream. As a youngster, the Disney Channel was constantly switched on at the family home, Adéla hatched a plan and a timeline.
“I basically wanted to be famous,” she told Jimmy Fallon, when she stopped by NBC’s The Tonight Show for Thursday night’s episode. Her education included watching Fallon’s interviews with Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus and others.
Dreams, they sometimes come true. Adéla boasts a top 10 hit with the viral song “Nicole Kidman,” lifting 9-6 on the latest Billboard Hot 100, for a new high. A month ago, when Kidman stopped by The Tonight Show, conversation quickly moved to Adéla and her ode to the Australian actress. “I can’t believe it. She wrote a song called ‘Nicole Kidman,’” the Oscar winner remarked at the time. “She’s so talented.”
Deep breath, Adéla. “That’s too much to even think about,” she explained to Fallon. “She’s my muse.” Kidman, well “she’s doing charity work by mentioning my name all over town. It’s amazing.”
If that was strange, Adéla must’ve felt like she entered Weirdworld when Kidman, Dua Lipa, Pedro Pascal and other a-listers created TikToks to Adéla’s music. “I was like, this is not real. I’m being pranked obviously, I honestly thought it was AI. But it was not,” she recounted in her late-night interview.
Adéla’s mom is, of course, on her side, freaking out just like her daughter. “She also loves Nicole,” the rising pop star admitted. “She was beside herself. She was like ‘I don’t know if people are going crazy of if you’re a genius. But it’s working.’”
Then, Adéla stepped away from the Tonight Show couch and onto the stage for her TV debut performance, a medley of those two hits “Nicole Kidman” and “Ain’t In LA,” both lifted from the album Prima. The rising Slovak star sure made an impression, leading a troupe of dancers for a seductive performance with all the hallmarks of a wild night down at the Moulin Rouge.
