The Anthony Edwards vs. Kevin Durant and Drake sneaker war doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon.
In a new ad for the adidas AE 3, starring Hasan Minhaj as “The official Anthony Edwards insider,” the comedian and actor took a dig at he Toronto rapper in response to a Kevin Durant Nike commercial from a few months ago.
As he introduces himself, Minhaj makes a joke about your mom before taking a shot at LeBron James and Nike’s stock price, and finally focuses his attention at Drake. “Oh, and meanwhile, somewhere in Toronto, a certain bandwagon fan is facing FOMO and buried in lawsuits. Really sorry about that!” he says to the camera.
Back in June, Durant and Nike released an ad promoting a new purple colorway of the KD 19 where Drake and the sneakers are delivered in a wooden box to the Houston Rockets forward’s house. As Drake talks about the new kicks, he ends his sales pitch with a jab toward Anthony Edwards’s signature sneakers. “‘Hey Ant-Man, can you drop your purple shoes?’ Said four kids in Minnesota,” he jokes. “Like no one wants to see those, they want the KDs”
This is the second ad where Edwards responds to Nike’s commercial.
Earlier this month, in a PrizePicks ad, he parodied the aforementioned Nike ad and had a wooden box delivered to his friends to replace with a box of his sneakers. The box had “FRAGILE: RETURN TO TORONTO” stenciled on it, while someone was inside it trying to get out as they asked for Kevin. Once they realize who might be inside the box, his friend borrows a line from Kendrick Lamar. “Man, buddy ain’t nothin’,” he tells his partner. “You know he had to run to Atlanta to get the swag, anyway.”
After they switch the boxes up, they park in front of a crowd of people, walk out and say, “I heard only four people in Minnesota wanted these.”
We will have to wait and see if Ant-Man earned himself a couple of bars in Drake’s next song.
JAŸ-Z had a message for those online who tried to highlight low resale ticket prices and questioned whether or not his JAŸ-Z30 Tour stops in L.A. were any good.
The Brooklyn rapper and business magnate closed out his two-night performance at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, over the weekend with a public service announcement centered around AI and clapping back at social media trolls who claimed he couldn’t sell tickets or that the audio quality was bad.
“Y’all gotta be very aware of what’s going on in the world, right?” he told the crowd. “People will tell you that nobody was in here tonight, but you got eyes, you can see. People will tell you that the music wasn’t great, but you got ears. You gotta understand, you gotta question everything. In this world of AI and everything … it’s been going on forever. We called it propaganda before. But now, with the technology caught up and these people could trick — a lot of tricknology. … It’s called artificial intelligence because it’s mimicking you guys. It’s mimicking us. We got real intelligence, not artificial intelligence.”
He then continued by asking those in attendance if they “felt” when he brought out several West Coast legends, and ended his statement with some chest-thumping.
“We feel, right? When Snoop and Dre came out, we felt that sh–, correct? Too $hort, Bay Area,” Jay asked the audience. “Make sure you question everything. You feel. Machines are learning you. You tell ’em your swag, you tell ’em your name, you tell ’em the thing and it mimics you. It can’t be you. It could never be you, so question everything, especially in this days and age. Y’all feel me? They will tell you that Jigga ain’t Jigga. Hov is motherf—in’ Hov. Peace & love, Los Angeles. I love you!”
Jay’s Saturday show at SoFi Stadium was the last of eight concerts for his JAŸ-Z30 Tour, celebrating his 30 years in rap. The trek included three stops at New York’s Yankee Stadium, two nights at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, one night at Stade de France in Saint-Denis, France, and two nights at SoFi.

G Flip and Chrishell Stause have broken up after more than four years together, the couple announced Monday (Oct. 26).
The singer and Selling Sunset star both posted their own statements addressing the news, with G writing on Instagram, “Chrishell and I are no longer together.”
“I will always love her, we will always share a special connection and I cherish our memories together deeply,” the Aussie musician wrote. “My head & heart are feeling very heavy right now and I’m not able to talk but I want to thank you all for your support and appreciate you respecting our privacy at this difficult time.”
On her account, Stause posted a tearful video. “G and I are no longer together,” she says in the clip. “We have agreed to treat this public separation with love and respect for each other. That’s not hard for me because I am in love with this person, and I don’t have all the information or the reasons.
“I feel like a little bit of a failure,” the All My Children alum also admitted. “I just have to heal and figure this out. It’s hard, it’s painful — I’m a lover girl, I swing big, I miss.”
That said, Stause was able to acknowledge that she’d had “an amazing four years with G,” and so “maybe it wasn’t a miss.” “I will always love G, and I don’t ever really see that changing,” she added. “This sucks, but everyone deserves to be happy, and I wish that for both of us.”
G Flip — whose song “Bed on Fire” recently debuted to No. 46 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart after it was featured in Off Campus — first started dating Stause in March 2022, the same year the former soap opera star appeared in the musician’s “Get Me Outta Here” music video. In May the following year, the pair got symbolically married in Las Vegas and made a tradition out of renewing their vows with each wedding anniversary.

The Seattle Seahawks are throwing some not-so-subtle shade after their win against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday (Oct. 25), so it’s a good thing that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce know how to shake it off.
In posts on social media after the Washington team’s 20-3 victory against the Chiefs — who’d previously been undefeated this season — the Seahawks quoted some of the pop superstar’s lyrics. “Lately, I’ve been dressin’ for revenge,” they captioned an Instagram photo of mascot Blitz in a glittery getup, referencing a line from Swift’s “Vigilante Sh–.”
On X, Seattle also shared a photo of Eras Tour-style friendship bracelets reading, “Seahawks win,” captioned with “End Game,” the title of one of Swift’s Reputation singles.
Though the 14-time Grammy winner wasn’t in attendance at the Chiefs vs. Seahawks matchup, she has been at every Kansas City home game so far this season. On Oct. 18, famous friends Este Haim and Caitlin Clark joined Swift in her usual suite with Donna and Ed Kelce as they cheered the Chiefs on against the Los Angeles Chargers.
The singer has been staying busy as usual lately, releasing The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore in September and logging a 16th Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 with one of the deluxe songs, “Patient Zero.” About a week ago, she attended the Academy Museum Gala and performed a handful of songs including her Toy Story 5 soundtrack hit “I Knew It, I Knew You.”
See the Seahawks’ posts poking fun at Swift and Kelce below.

Record collecting and music discovery platform Discogs has teamed up with Germany-based indie record store Black Plastic Records for the public sale of nearly 1,300 rare Beatles records from a private collection, Billboard can exclusively report.
The collection, compiled over decades by a dedicated fan who tracked down original pressings and rare singles and editions in different countries, represents an uncommonly extensive archive of Beatles recordings from the U.K. and continental Europe. Following the fan’s death, Black Plastic Records, a shop located in Dortmund, Germany, acquired the collection from his estate. The collection includes nearly 1,500 records total, though only around 1,300 will be available for purchase.
Included in the sale are: a rare 1963 promotional pressing of The Beatles’ debut studio album Please Please Me, one of an estimated 250 copies produced for British radio stations; an early promotional copy of the 1963 single “From Me to You”; an original 1963 U.K. mono first pressing of Please Please Me, featuring the black-and-gold Parlophone label; a rare 1968 pressing of The Beatles (better known as The White Album) featuring the Parlophone label; and a 1970 U.K. box set edition of Let It Be — including the original slipcase, fragile interior tray and book of photographs from the band’s recording sessions — described in a press release as “remarkably well-preserved.”

Monika Hanfland
“Beyond these individual rarities, what makes the collection particularly remarkable is its depth of international releases,” states the release. “As Beatlemania swept the world in the 1960s, record companies in different countries often released their own versions of the group’s music, with different song combinations, album artwork, picture sleeves and record labels. A Beatles single released in England, for example, might feature entirely different cover art or accompanying tracks when issued in France, Italy or Sweden. Many of these regional editions were produced in small quantities and have since become highly sought-after by collectors. Together they offer a window into how the group’s music traveled around the world, and took on different identities in different countries.”
The first drop of roughly 1,300 records will be available to purchase exclusively through Discogs starting Friday (Oct. 30) at 8:00 a.m. ET. The sale will remain exclusive to Discogs for the first 10 days, though in-store browsing and pickup will be offered at Black Plastic Records.

“You don’t end up with thirteen hundred Beatles records by accident. Different sleeves, different pressings, promo copies nobody’s seen in sixty years — that’s devotion, and a lot of record culture comes down to that: wanting to stand as close to the music as a pressing can put you,” said Discogs director of seller experience Russ Ryan in a statement. “People forget Beatlemania never landed the same way twice. Cataloguing every country’s version has been part of our project for over twenty-five years, and it’s rare to see it tested this thoroughly in one place. Most importantly, a collection like this finds its way to a shop like Black Plastic because of the trust they’ve built up over years, not luck. Our job from there is simple: get those records into the right hands, globally.”
Added Valentin Gube, co-founder and co-owner of Black Plastic Records, “Collecting Beatles records in depth is a challenging field. You can find Beatles records everywhere, as they are the best-selling band of all time, but finding rare records in good condition gets harder every year. Original Beatles LPs from the sixties, and even more so singles, have been played over and over again, whether they are true rarities or common pressings. This makes finding rare Beatles records in nice collectable condition particularly difficult. Some pressings might still turn up occasionally, but finding a copy that has survived all these years with very little wear is a completely different story. So being able to put this collection up for sale in its entirety, with hundreds of sought after LPs and singles is a true honor.”

The Beatles sale marks the latest edition of Discogs Drops, a series of curated music collections that gives fans and collectors globally access to rare records and private archives. Previous sales in the series have included the personal collections of late Television frontman Tom Verlaine and journalist and author Mikal Gilmore.
A decade after Noel Gallagher said he was the worst kind of influence on kids, Sacha Baron Cohen got the last laugh on the Oasis songwriter/co-founder over the weekend when he roped the rock icon into a bit to promote his new Ali G movie. In an Instagram video on Saturday (Oct. 24), Cohen, dressed in his absurdist character’s signature oversized, shiny puffer jacket, track pants, goggles and black durag, confronted Gallagher for snagging his seat at a screening of the new comedy sequel Ali G: Who Iz I?
Walking into the cinema with a flashlight, Ali peeps Gallagher’s A1 seat in the theater and snaps, “You’se in my seat. Iz you got a ticket?” at a smiling Gallagher as the crowd howls in the background. “Get up, get up, show yourself!” Ali G demands, yanking Gallagher up by his lapel.
“Oh, you look like whatshisname, one of them Oasis twins, inni’it?,” the buffoonish character says as he flashes his camera flashlight in Gallagher’s face. “You’se Nigel Gallagher, inni’it? A 50-year-old white man trying to make a comeback after 20 years, so sad,” adds the youth culture-appropriating character created by the 55-year-old comedian/actor, a double spicy diss as his own new film is the long-awaited sequel to 2002’s Ali G Indahouse. Gallagher, of course, just announced the new round of 2027 reunion dates with his band after their own 15-year split.
As is his wont, Ali G then started hitting on Gallagher’s girlfriend, asking his they’re together and then explaining, “not anymore.”
“Yo, listen, I is here and because I’ze feeling very charitable, I’ze gonna give selfies tonight, 30 bucks, if you want ganja, 30 bucks, if you want a hand–b from me Julie, 20 bucks,” Ali G told a laughing audience, noting that a hey-howya-doing from Gallagher would only run you $3.
Gallagher, who has done virtually no press to promote the Oasis tours, was a spot-on choice for the bit, as he memorably took a playful swipe at Cohen’s character a decade ago, saying he didn’t want his kids to come home from classes speaking in Ali G’s embarrassing, faux Jamaican patois.
“My kids go to private school because I don’t want them coming home talking like Ali G,” Gallagher said in 2015.
Cohen’s latest mockumentary comedy was produced, written and directed by the star, who plays the titular character in the film, as well as left college professor Dr. Nira Cain-N’Degeocoello, as well as square jawed former Israeli Mossad agent Erran Moran.
Silverchair drummer Ben Gillies has a new band. The Kiln pairs him with Joseph Prielozny, a two-time Grammy-winning producer and multi-instrumentalist, and the duo’s self-titled debut album is due in 2027.
Gillies announced the project on social media alongside an auction benefiting Support Act, the Australian charity that provides crisis relief and mental health support to musicians and crew. “It’s my birthday, but this year, the present’s going the other way,” he said in a video posted to coincide with his birthday on Saturday (Oct. 24).
The album’s first vinyl run will be limited to 250 copies, but four test pressings were made before production. Gillies and Prielozny are each keeping one, and a third, signed by both, is up for auction, with half the winning bid going to Support Act. “Only four of these vinyls exist. They’re the very first copies of the record ever made,” Gillies said. Bidding closes at noon AEDT on Saturday (Oct. 31) via the band’s website.
The pair come from opposite ends of the business. Gillies co-founded Silverchair in Newcastle, New South Wales, in 1992 with Daniel Johns and Chris Joannou, and the band broke in the U.S. as teenagers: Frogstomp reached No. 9 on the Billboard 200 in 1995 and spent 49 weeks on the chart, while “Tomorrow” topped both the Modern Rock Tracks and Album Rock Tracks charts and became the most-played song on U.S. modern rock radio that year. “Abuse Me” later reached No. 4 on both rock charts, and Young Modern peaked at No. 70 on the Billboard 200 in 2007. All five Silverchair albums debuted at No. 1 in Australia, and the band has won 21 ARIA Awards, more than any other act. They went on indefinite hiatus in 2011.
Prielozny won his first Grammy in 2013 for engineering Lecrae’s Gravity, which took best gospel album, and a second in 2015 for his songwriting on Lecrae and for KING & COUNTRY’s “Messengers,” which won best contemporary Christian music performance/song.
Details on The Kiln’s sound are scarce. The duo’s website frames the project around songwriting, experimentation and storytelling, with the album exploring the tension between holding on and letting go.
Gillies has worked steadily since Silverchair’s hiatus, including the side project Tambalane with Wes Carr, his band Bento, whose debut Diamond Days arrived in 2012, and solo releases.
