ILLIT talks about what their favorite part of filming the “I Got Your Back” music video and how their ‘MAMIHLAPINATAPAI’ mini album is a different look and sound for them as a group at KCON LA 2026.

KATSEYE (Yoonchae, Danielle, Megan and Lara) have a lot on their minds. The international girl group share how they feel about their new documentary Wild Hearts, what they’re excited for their EYEKONS to see, their thoughts on seeing Manon in the documentary, as well as react to “Animal” becoming their highest charting song on the Hot 100 chart.

Alright, guys. We have been on such a crazy journey, and I remember how we felt about Pop Star Academy when we watched that. But how does it feel seeing this part of your story on the big screen?

Danielle (KATSEYE)
I think it’s good to see. It’s very much more authentic. You get a little bit more of that rawness, more of like the BTS, more of that grind, that day-to-day grind that people I feel like don’t really get to see a lot, so I think it’s very nice that we’re finally like making a film to show that.

Tetris Kelly
Yeah, you talk about the grind. I mean, you guys just dropped “Animal, which became your highest-charting song on the Billboard Hot 100 to date. So congratulations! How do you guys feel about “Animal” getting all this success right now?

Megan (KATSEYE)
We’re so grateful. We couldn’t be more grateful. We’ve worked so hard, and we’re continuing to. And it just makes us so much more excited for the world tour to come out, and just the album and everything. So yeah, we we love you guys so much. We couldn’t.

Tetris Kelly
I mean, the tour. We’re getting bigger venues this time. So what are we going to see? Any surprises? What can the fans expect out there?

Lara (KATSEYE)
I think lots of vocals, more vocal moments. I think a bit more like interaction with the fans. It’s just we’re planning like a really, really, really sick show. We just started rehearsals, and we’re grinding. It’s going to be awesome.

Tetris Kelly
And I’ve tried to, of course, be as respectful as possible and give you guys space. But now that you guys have talked about it a couple times with Manal being in this film. How does it feel emotionally being here tonight and seeing that?

Lara (KATSEYE)
I think it’s so so beautiful. She is such an incredible, important, and beautiful part of KATSEYE’s journey and will forever be. So of course she is in this movie, and like it’s so beautiful to watch that and watch the journey as it happened, and also for all the EYEKON to see. I think that they’re going to be so happy. They love her so much, and we love her so much. And it’s it’s just it’s beautiful. It’s awesome.

We hung out with some of the hottest stars at Lollapalooza, and from burning hot sets and views right beside stage to the hottest after parties. Day one at Lala, we kick things off being “Lawless” with SB19.

It’s the first time that we ever performed that song, and we just released that like a few hours ago. So when I was performing earlier, like my mind went blank. Just had to move, you know. It’s it’s Lollapalooza, and there are lots of people watching, so had to move lawlessly.

Then the always iconic Patron Hacienda had a surprise performance by Lil Sims. Night one was definitely all about the parties. We got Flavor Flav with Public Enemy at Soho House. An electric set with YUNGBLUD at Riviera Theater. Slayyyter made Chicago “Dance at Salt Shift. And AirBnb gave us the best summer night by blessing us with Zara Larsson at the big theater. Day two, we spent the morning swinging by CORTIS at House of Blues. Before chatting with artist Whitney Whitney about losing her voice and her journey to Lolla.

The process was the worst thing I’ve ever been through. Like losing the thing that meant the most to me, heartbreaking. Like it really was terrible. But the fact that the timing and like the universe let me sing last week, and now my set is today, I don’t know. Someone’s working in my favor, and I am very excited.

It’s amazing, man. These guys are super talented, man. They can sing, they can dance, they can rap. It’s an honor to work with them, man. You know, I’m blessed to still be, you know, been in this game for a long time, over 20 years, and still go to the studio and cook up with new artists and and create hits for real, man. If you’ve noticed that there’s a symbolism, it’s a goat, because it means goated.

I mean, you guys are goated, especially the vocals. You know, I was giving you a hard time about time, but time, the vocals, 10 out of 10. And then you guys also previewed a little special moment for your song from the DreamWorks movie. So how was that to debut the?

Stell   

Well, of course, we would like to thank DreamWorks for giving us opportunity to sing one of the legendary song from the rapper in the Philippines, Sir Francis Magalona. We’re very honored to do that. But of course, yes, doing an official soundtrack for Forgotten Island is something that we’re very proud of, and we think that we hope we give justice to the song, and we’re very excited for the fans to hear it, and of course, we’re very excited to to see the film, and we hope to see it together while we were here in the U.S. maybe.
