You’d be surprised by how much 50 Cent was making per episode during his time playing the role Kanan Stark on his hit series Power.
The Queens mogul recently sat down with GQ to talk about his most iconic films and spoke on his friction with writer and showrunner Courtney Kemp Agboh and the show’s lead Omari Hardwick while also revealing that he took quite the pay cut to play the notorious character. 50 began talking about how his name being attached to the show and his executive producer status made things “awkward” for Kemp and Hardwick once the series started to take off in popularity.
“When people have success for the first time in their career, sometimes they need it to be all theirs, right?” he explained. “So the difficult thing is if they have their success for the first time, and it’s a 50 Cent show. It is a 50 Cent show, like publicly people look at it like it’s ‘presented by 50 Cent.’ The story is from Southside, Jamaica, Queens — everything is 50 Cent tied to the show. The music that’s playing is 50 Cent.”
He added: “It got awkward for the writer, for the showrunner because she felt like it was registering as a 50 Cent show instead of her show, and that turned into … it got weird with her behaviors and the things that were going on behind the scenes with her, and then it also was friction between her and Omari because he was feeling like he was the lead and the star of the show, so she was having a problem with anybody that was leading the show because she felt like it was her show.”
50 Cent then talked about how much he was making per episode while also wearing many hats like executive producer and music supervisor. “I took a pay cut to be there the entire time that I was on that show,” he said, after admitting he had no issues about his character being famously killed off. “I was being paid, in the very beginning, $17,000 per episode while executive producing the show, being the music supervisor pretty much, doing the theme song, doing all the promotion and publicity. It wasn’t until the third season that they would accept the show on Good Morning America without me being there. I’m technically the star of Power until I introduced everybody to it, and then Omari Hardwick turned into the star of Power.”
In other 50 Cent news, he recently teased a collaboration between himself, his mentor Eminem and the late 2Pac for the official soundtrack of his upcoming role as Balrog in the newest iteration of Street Fighter, which is coming to theaters on Oct. 16.

Tinashe is fully embracing her Popstar era and bringing that same confidence to her latest collaboration with Express. Ahead of the release of her new album, Popstar, on Sept. 25, the singer teamed up with the fashion retailer for their “Too Easy to Look This Good” campaign. Inspired by her 2026 single Too Easy, the collection features XS-XL sizes and complements Tinashe’s own sartorial choices. “My style encompasses a lot of different feelings, whether that be bold and bad bitch or cool, laid-back sporty,” she told me. This isn’t the first time Tinashe has partnered with a clothing brand. In 2025, the singer’s Urban Outfitters collection sold out most of its pieces shortly after they dropped.
For Tinashe, collaborating with a brand that treats her as a creative partner rather than just the face of a campaign was important, and exactly what she got with the Express collection. “I really wanted it to feel real and something I would actually hang out in,” she said. As a dancer, she also knows the right outfit can elevate a performance just as easily as the wrong one can hold it back. That’s why movement was top of her mind while developing this collab, saying, “When I’m choosing what I wear, something that I can move in and that accentuates my movement is just so important. I was really cognizant of that when I was putting these outfits together for this campaign.”
JEANS
Mid Rise Bootcut Light Wash Jeans in Hyper Stretch
Buy 1, Get 1 $20
Tinashe’s favorite piece from the collection, this pair of jeans was styled on the singer by folding down the waistband. “They were very comfortable, and they were easy to move in,” she said.
Designed with a flattering mid-rise waist, these light wash bootcut jeans are fitted through the hip, thigh and knee before opening into a subtle flare. Hyper stretch compression denim minimizes waist gapping while maintaining its shape wear after wear. Available in eight colors and three lengths.
DRESS
Satin Cowl Neck Sleeveless Maxi Slip Dress
$40 Off $120 With Code
As seen on Tinashe in Express’ campaign video.
This satin maxi slip dress features a draped cowl neckline, adjustable straps and a flattering bias cut that skims the body. A side leg slit adds movement while the pull-on design creates an effortless silhouette suited for weddings, parties or evening events.
TOP
Satin Leopard Lace Trim V-Neck Wide Strap Cami
$40 Off $120 With Code
Tinashe posed in the mirror during a montage of outfit changes in this satin leopard print cami.
The top features an allover print with delicate lace trim along the neckline, and the flattering V-neck front and back are balanced by wide straps for added comfort. Pair it with the matching bottoms or style it with denim for an elevated everyday look.
PANTS
Faux Leather High Waisted Wide Leg Pant
Buy 1, Get 1 $20!
Available in short, regular and long lengths.
These high-waisted faux leather pants feature a relaxed wide-leg silhouette with classic five-pocket styling and a zipper and button closure. They pair easily with sweaters, blouses or heels for polished seasonal outfits.
BLOUSE
Leopard Portofino Shirt
Limited Time Offer
Modeled by Tinashe for the fall “Too Easy to Look This Good” Express campaign.
The classic portofino shirt gets an update with a bold leopard print that transitions easily from workdays to weekends. Designed with a lightweight feel and an effortless silhouette, it pairs well with denim trousers or skirts for versatile styling throughout the season.
Express’ “Too Easy to Look This Good” collection also features Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins wearing the brand’s latest styles for men. In a campaign video promoting the clothing line, the pro footballer can be seen dancing at a house party and checking out Tinashe’s outfits as she walks by.
Soundtracked to Too Easy, the first single from her new album, Express’ campaign video opens with Tinashe DJing in a black bomber jacket before moving through the party in a pair of folded-down jeans and a lace top. Guests at the party, including Higgins, show off more pieces from the collection before Tinashe changes through five different outfits in front of a mirror and closes the video with a dance break.
The song Too Easy offers a sarcastic take on the pressures that come with fame. Asked whether being a pop star really is “too easy,” Tinashe says she takes the bad with the good. “I genuinely enjoy the highs, the lows, the struggle, the bad, the good, the ugly. I really genuinely love it and enjoy all of it.”
The Express collaboration arrives ahead of Tinashe’s Sept. 25 release of Popstar, her first full-length album since 2024’s Quantum Baby. Fans have already heard two songs from the upcoming 16-track project, which she describes as “unapologetic, bold, and playful.” The release follows two consecutive summers of viral success. Nasty became one of 2024’s breakout hits, reaching No. 69 on the Billboard Hot 100, while the Disco Lines remix of No Broke Boys topped Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart in 2025, cementing Tinashe’s momentum heading into her next chapter.

Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live), Billie Eilish’s concert film about her arena tour in support of her 2024 album Hit Me Hard and Soft, debuts on streaming exclusively on Paramount+ on Thursday (Aug. 6) in the United States, the streaming service announced Thursday (July 30).
Eilish premiered the film, which had a 3D theatrical release via Paramount Pictures, on May 6 at Los Angeles’ Fox Westwood Theater. Director James Cameron — as well as Eilish’s parents and brother Finneas, and her partner Nat Wolff — joined the star on the red carpet. It opened in theaters May 8.
“I just would thank this guy right here who brought this idea in the first place,” Eilish said at the event, gesturing to Cameron; the pair are credited as co-directors on the project. “I’m so excited we have this captured forever.”
The concert film features footage taken during Eilish’s four Manchester shows in 2025, behind-the-scenes moments from the road and clips from an interview conducted by Cameron.
The pop star’s biggest singles made the cut for the live-concert experience visual, which features performances of songs including her breakthrough No. 1 single “Bad Guy,” the Oscar-winning “What Was I Made For?” written for the Barbie movie soundtrack, Hit Me Hard and Soft hit “Birds of a Feather” and more.
Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft album, her latest full-length studio release, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 in 2024. The set has spent a total of 114 weeks on the all-genre albums chart.
Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft Tour spanned 2024-2025, wrapping in San Francisco in November.

Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters continues to expand its growing lineup of collectibles with a new blind box featuring phone huggers. The CultureFly release is the latest mystery-box merchandise inspired by the breakout animated musical hit, joining previous collectibles, like instant noodle-themed blind boxes, Funko Pops! and keychain charms. Now, fans have another chance to test their luck with a new series of miniature accessories that display their favorite heroes (and rivals) on phones and other electronic devices.
KPop Demon Hunters has become one of Netflix’s biggest success stories, with its soundtrack dominating streaming charts and “Golden” winning an Oscar, not to mention HUNTR/X emerging as a genuine K-pop phenomenon. Momentum shows no signs of slowing down, especially as the fictional musical trio is set to embark on a global concert tour that will bring the movie’s music to live audiences.
ONE IN EVERY BOX
‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Phone Huggers Blind Box
New On Amazon
One mystery silicone minifigure chosen from nine possible designs in every blind box.
The collection features all three members of HUNTR/X (Rumi, Zoey and Mira), the Saja Boys (Jinu, Romance, Mystery, Abby and Baby), plus the fan-favorite blue tiger, Derpy. Each figure is made from flexible silicone and is designed to grip the edge of a phone, tablet, computer monitor or other flat surface without leaving sticky residue when removed or repositioned. The figures are intended as decorative accessories rather than functional phone grips or stands.
Because this is a blind box, buyers can’t choose which character they receive, and duplicates are possible when purchasing multiple boxes, but that’s part of the fun of collecting them. My advice? Start a collection with friends and swap minifigures until everyone has each character.
‘KPDH’ PHONE ACCESSORY
‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Derpy & Sussie PopSocket PopWallet

This MagSafe-compatible PopWallet holds up to three cards and can snap on or off your phone with ease. An adaptor ring is included to attach to your phone case for wireless charging. Also available in a magnetic PopGrip and an adhesive PopGrip. All three products feature a swappable top to change the artwork. The adhesive PopGrip attaches to most smooth, hard plastic phone cases but is not compatible with wireless charging.
