American Idol contenders will no longer hear the signature “you’re going to Hollywood!” phrase. According to The Los Angeles Times, after 25 years in Los Angeles, the long-running reality singing competition is pulling up stakes and moving across the country to Atlanta for its next season, which will premiere in early 2027.
Show producer Fremantle confirmed to the paper that Idol‘s upcoming 25th season will be filmed in the Atlanta area at a time when Los Angeles has seen the level of productions in the city long associated with everything showbiz dropping despite Gov. Gavin Newsom recently signing a major tax incentive bill aimed at keeping businesses in the state.
Just this week, Newsom signed Senate Bill 180, which extends the state’s business incentive program, CalCompetes, through fiscal year 2032-33 after it was scheduled to sunset next year. According to the Governor’s office, since 2019, more than $1.8 billion in tax credits have been awarded to 271 businesses through the CalCompetes Tax Credit Program. The Hollywood Reporter noted that the Idol flight came after Newsom signed a bill last year that increased the cap on film and TV tax credit incentives from $330 million to $750 million a year.
Idol‘s first 15 seasons (2002-2016) on Fox were based in Los Angeles and when it returned to the air in 2018 on ABC it continued to film in the city until crowning its latest winner in May of this year. The continued exodus of production in L.A. has worried film workers and union leaders as the state struggles to compete with other states offering even more lucrative tax credits, the Times reported.
In the meantime, TV production in the L.A. area was down 27% in the second quarter of this year compared with the same period last year, mainly because of fewer reality TV shoots. As an example, earlier this year Fox’s The Masked Singer announced plans to leave its Fox lot in L.A. to travel across the country to New Jersey thanks to the Garden State’s more attractive tax credits. In addition, long-running ABC competition series Shark Tank is also pulling up stakes to move to Atlanta from the Sony lot in Culver City, Calif.
Idol has provided jobs for hundreds of workers each season for the past two decades, but the allure of Georgia’s generous tax incentives — including up to a 30% tax credit for reality TV productions that spend at least $500,000 in the state — has drawn a number of productions there, in part because, unlike California, the Peach State’s tax program includes provisions covering compensation for actors, producers, directors, screenwriters and other key production workers.
THR reported that in late July the Georgia film office reported that 280 productions had filmed in the state over the last fiscal year, including such major shoots as a Superman sequel and TV series including Will Trent and Chad Powers. Last year, Idol appeared to telegraph the move by moving the annual Hollywood Week to Nashville, Tenn., home of two of its three judges, Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan.

Luke Taleno is still living the dream. The American Dream, that is.
Born in Cuba, and a cancer survivor, Taleno shone when he auditioned for NBC’s America’s Got Talent back in June. Under the bright lights of the AGT stage, Taleno performed an original number, “From Seat to Stage,” a gift from his heart to the rest of us. It was a Golden Buzzer-worthy performance, earning that highest of praise from judge Howie Mandel.
Taleno never had it easy. He relocated with his family to the United States at the age of just three. Before he could communicate in English, he understood the language of music and its power to connect people.
At 13, he was diagnosed with leukemia. Now, aged 28, he’s in the semifinals of AGT season 21. And he’s there as a new U.S. citizen, having sworn his oath prior to his most recent performance.
Taleno didn’t waste his chance. Strutting out to the stage under the stars and stripes of the Cuban flag, and wearing a patriotic jacket, Taleno performed another original song, “American Dream,” carrying the energy, swagger and confidence of a guy who could go the distance.
“You are the American dream, you really are,” Mandel said of his protégé. “You have had to battle your whole life with your health. And then you’ve manifested yourself last year, backstage, telling Simon (Cowell) you were going to end up on that stage. You got the Golden Buzzer. You are making your dream come true.” For Mandel, Taleno is “the new Eminem.”
Taleno wrote the song in the past week. “You sung it with so much passion, and heart. And you interpreted every single word,” remarked Spice Girls’ Mel B. “You’re going to go very far, you are.”
Sofía Vergara reckons Taleno is a “superstar already,” an artist that is “so, so good.”
As he finished his moment on stage, Taleno doubled down. “Most people chase one dream,” he enthused. “And I’m getting to live both dreams. Let’s keep the dream alive.”
Will Taleno score a place in the final? The result lies with America’s vote. Wednesday’s AGT results special will feature Season 20 runner-up Chris Turner, who returns to the talent show with his signature freestyle rap.
Watch Taleno’s semifinal performance below.

Queen Celine is back.
Celine Dion made a triumphant return to the stage this month as the singer kicked off her 26-date Paris residency at the Plenitude Arena in Nanterre on Sept. 12. Dion delighted a joyous, sold out crowd with a setlist of both French and English-language songs comprising some of her biggest hits, along with personal favorites.
The Paris residency marks the “I’m Alive” singer’s first run of shows since announcing her diagnosis with Stiff Person Syndrome in 2022, which ultimately led to her cancelling a North American and European tour. Now on the road to recovery, Dion is staying in one place as fans flock to Paris to catch the diva on stage.
Tickets to Dion’s Paris shows were initially released through Ticketmaster in April, though most dates are now almost sold out. You can check the Ticketmaster France website to find resale tickets or to see if new seats have been released (which sometimes happens closer to show date).
There are other ways to find tickets to Dion’s remaining dates, through third-party retailers that have a large inventory of seats available. Many of them have promotional offers that get you a discount on tickets too.

Dion is staying at the Le Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris while in town, holding court at the iconic luxury property near the Arc de Triomphe and Champs-Élysées. The French-Canadian singer has been seen posing for photos and interacting with fans who have been lining the street in front of the hotel each day in the hopes of catching a glimpse of the star. Le Royal Monceau has also played host to everyone from Michael Jackson to Madonna over the years.
As for the residency, while the concerts are being billed as Dion’s big return to the stage, the singer did perform at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she delivered a soaring rendition of Édith Piaf’s “Hymne A L’Amour” from atop the Eiffel Tower.

Jessica Simpson is having a busy fall. Between returning to music, preparing for a new Netflix documentary and expanding her Walmart fashion line, the singer has plenty keeping her in the spotlight.
Her latest Walmart collection arrived Sept. 10, bringing her signature Cali-boho aesthetic into fall with barn jackets, barrel-leg jeans, maxi dresses, ruffle tops and accessories. Prices start at $10+, making the new collection one of the more accessible ways to tap into Simpson’s recognizable style.
The assortment draws heavily from the mix of bohemian fashion and Western influence that has become synonymous with Simpson. Flowing dresses and ruffled tops bring a romantic touch, while relaxed denim and barn jackets add structure and a nod to her Texas roots.
There’s also a subtle ’70s influence throughout the collection. Rather than leaning into head-to-toe retro dressing, Simpson’s latest Walmart pieces translate the era through wearable details: relaxed denim silhouettes, flowy dresses, feminine ruffles and easy layering pieces.
That makes the collection particularly useful for the September transition. A maxi dress can still work during warmer days, while a barn jacket gives it a fall update. Barrel-leg jeans can be paired with a lightweight top now and a sweater later, making them the kind of staple that can stay in rotation throughout the season.
The barn jacket is one of fall’s standout layers, and Simpson’s $49.50 oversized version makes the trend feel distinctly her own with its Western-leaning aesthetic. It’s an especially good pick for those in-between September days when you need a jacket but aren’t ready for a heavier coat.
BEST BOHO DRESS
One of Walmart’s highly rated dresses is still available in sizes XS to M.
This maxi dress is the kind of throw-on-and-go style that still looks thoughtfully put together. It has a tiered silhouette, flutter sleeves, lace and bow details, plus an elastic waist for a little extra shape.
BEST AFFORDABLE DENIM
At an especially wallet-friendly price, these jeans come in four denim washes and three lengths, including short, regular and long.
These affordable Jessica Simpson flare jeans are fitted through the hips and thighs before kicking out into a classic flare, with stretch denim for comfort.
BEST ’70S-INSPIRED TOP
It’s the same boho-inspired pattern as the previous dress, but in an easy-to-style top. It’s currently available in sizes XS to XL.
For a blouse that feels a little more special than the everyday basic, this Jessica Simpson top delivers with a ruffled peplum silhouette and feminine button details. The V-neck makes it easy to layer or wear on its own.
BEST STATEMENT ACCESSORY
Leopard
Available in leopard, black and olive colorways.
The butterfly dangle is what caught our eye on this $26 Jessica Simpson shoulder bag, which also has an adjustable strap and paisley lining.
BEST DENIM OVERALLS FOR FALL
A highly-rated denim overall with a subtle barrel leg design.
For a one-and-done fall outfit, these $39.50 Jessica Simpson overalls make a strong case for the barrel-leg trend with an denim silhouette and adjustable straps.
BEST COZY CARDIGAN
The style comes in sizes XS-XL and has a full button placket, long sleeves, and ribbed finishing throughout.
A floral print gives this cardigan more personality than your average button-front knit. It has a V-neckline, dropped shoulders and ribbed trim, with the classic button-front construction keeping the shape familiar.
BEST MID-RISE JEAN
Sizes range from 2-16, with belt loops, five-pocket styling, a button closure and zip fly.
This pair lands somewhere between a straight leg and a wide leg, thanks to its curved barrel shape. The jeans have a mid-rise waist, ankle-length cut, five pockets and a button-and-zip closure.
BEST PLUS-SIZE MINI DRESS
Available in 0X-4X, it has a mini-length hem, long sleeves, and elasticized cuffs.
The Calanthe has the kind of details that make a floral dress stand out. Along with its V-neckline and empire waist, it features long sleeves, elasticized cuffs, ruffle trim and a ruffled hem.
Boho-inspired style has long been part of Jessica Simpson’s style, and the Emmory Tiered Dress leans right into it. The flowy tiered skirt, puff sleeves and sweetheart neckline create a romantic silhouette that feels made for the start of fall.
The collection reflects Simpson’s evolution beyond music. She rose to fame as a pop singer in the late 1990s alongside Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Mandy Moore, with her 1999 single “I Wanna Love You Forever” peaking at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. She later expanded into television, publishing and fashion, turning the Jessica Simpson name into a lifestyle brand spanning clothing, footwear and accessories. Her Walmart line, which launched in 2024, brings that aesthetic to shoppers at more accessible prices.
Now, music is once again part of the story. After a 15-year hiatus from releasing original music, Simpson returned with Nashville Canyon: Part 1 and Nashville Canyon: Part 2. She is also the subject of a feature-length Netflix documentary exploring her life and career, with Joe Pearlman attached to direct.
For now, her latest Walmart collection gives fans something they can wear. From barrel-leg jeans and barn jackets to flowy dresses and ruffle tops, the fall 2026 lineup stays rooted in the California boho and Texas influences that have long defined her style.

After earning nine 2026 CMA Awards nominations, including for entertainer of the year, single of the year, album of the year and others, Ella Langley is one of the hottest voices in country music. Right now, the singer/songwriter is on The Dandelion Tour, which heads across the United States with dates in Charleston, Knoxville, Tulsa, Los Angeles and other cities. It ends at Grand Casino Arena in Saint Paul, MN on Saturday, Oct. 31.
Meanwhile, the tour is in support of her latest album, Dandelion, which was released in April. Additionally, there’s a rotating lineup of recording artists who are set to support, including ERNEST, Gabriella Rose, Kameron Marlowe and Laci Kaye Booth.
Tickets to the tour first went on sale through Live Nation and Ticketmaster, while the retailer’s Face Value Exchange program is an option for fans to resell tickets.
However, many of the dates have either sold out, or are very close to selling out, so one of the best ways to find last-minute Ella Langley tickets online is through third-party sites, such as StubHub, Vivid Seats, SeatGeek, TicketNetwork, Gametime, Event Tickets Center and others. All online retailers guarantee authentic tickets in time for your concert. Prices may be above or below face value at times.
StubHub has all-in pricing, so all fees are listed upfront. The site’s “FanProtect Guarantee” ensures that tickets are valid and delivered in time for the concert. If not, you’ll get your money back. Additionally, if the concert is canceled and not rescheduled, you’ll receive 120% credit, or be offered a full refund without the extra credit. At the time of publishing, Ella Langley tickets start at $98.
Vivid Seats lets you search by type of seat, such as suite, standing room, front of section or the VIP section, while the retailer prioritizes “Super Sellers” who are “experienced, highly-rated sellers.” With Vivid Seats, your purchase is protected with the company’s “100% Buyer Guarantee,” which ensures that you receive legitimate tickets in time for your concert, or your money back.
Meanwhile, you can save an additional 10% off your first purchase when you sign up for the company’s email list. As a bonus, you can use our exclusive promo code BB30 to take $30 off your first purchase. And as of this publication date, tickets start at $95.
Tickets are delivered digitally via email, so they’re available on your phone before you go through security. And prices are surprisingly reasonable, even for the hottest tickets. For example, SeatGeek has cheap Ella Langley tickets online from $97. Use our discount code BILLBOARD10 to save an additional $10 at checkout.
Don’t forget TicketNetwork. The retailer has ticket packages, which include parking passes, VIP access, meet and greets and other great experiences. It has tickets to Ella Langley’s concerts with all-in pricing that lets you see exactly what you’ll pay up front (fees included). Tickets start at $105, as of this writing. You can use our exclusive code BILLBOARD150 to save $150 off purchases over $500, or BILLBOARD300 to save $300 off orders of $1000 and up.
And since TicketNetwork is a resale site, the company says that pricing may sometimes be below face value because tickets aren’t held to a specific price point. It guarantees that the tickets you receive are the ones you purchased, and sometimes, even better than expected.
Gametime is a stellar third-party retailer for fans looking for affordable tickets. Tickets for in-demand concerts like Ella Langley start at $100. It guarantees the lowest prices, event cancellation protection and on-time ticket delivery for a smooth ticket buying experience.
The 2026 Global Citizen Festival is getting even bigger. Alicia Keys, Victoria Monét, YEONJUN and YOSHIKI are among the roster of stars set to take the stage at the event, which returns to New York City’s Central Park on Sept. 26.
Keys will perform alongside a group of special guests, while Monét, YEONJUN and YOSHIKI will make their Global Citizen Festival debuts. They join a previously announced lineup that includes Ms. Lauryn Hill & Wyclef Jean, Lenny Kravitz, John Legend, Lainey Wilson, Shaboozey and TOMORROW X TOGETHER. More performers are expected to be announced ahead of the festival.
The event will also feature appearances from Bill Nye, IZA, Jordan Fisher, Katie Couric, Lais Ribeiro, Marcus Samuelsson, Naomi Watanabe, Nomzamo Mbatha, PJ Sin Suela and Vladimir Duthiers.
For Keys, returning to the festival carries some hometown significance.
“There’s nothing like standing on that Global Citizen stage in the middle of Central Park, in my city, with people who love the world enough to show up for it,” she said in a statement. “Every time we come together, something shifts.”
This year’s festival is built around Global Citizen’s efforts to address issues connected to extreme poverty, with campaigns focused on education, supporting smallholder farmers and expanding access to electricity. Fans can earn free festival tickets by completing action-based challenges through the Global Citizens app.
New Yorkers also have opportunities to earn points through local volunteer efforts throughout September, including urban planting, beach cleanups and food donations. Participating organizations include Bowery Mission, Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy, Pollinator Pathways, Support + Feed and 9/11 Day.
There’s also a new way to turn those points into a ticket: After completing an action journey and earning enough points, fans can either enter the free-ticket lottery or make a $25 charitable donation to instantly secure a ticket, while supplies last. Donations will support New York City initiatives, including free programming through City Parks Foundation and organizations serving New Yorkers experiencing homelessness.
And for fans who want to rep the festival before heading to Central Park, the 2026 Global Citizen Festival merchandise collection is now available, featuring artist collaborations with Ms. Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean, Lenny Kravitz, Lainey Wilson, TXT and Shaboozey, along with collections with Aviator Nation and Brooklyn Industries.
The 2026 Global Citizen Festival will stream on the Amazon Music app, Amazon Music channels on Fire TV and Twitch, Prime Video, Apple Music, iHeartRadio, TikTok, Veeps and YouTube.
